A gunman has turned himself in following a shooting at a popular restaurant in Ratchaburi's Photharam district, which left four people injured.

The incident unfolded on April 30 at the Slam restaurant in Ban Luak subdistrict, resulting in injuries to three men and one woman, aged between 27 and 48. All were treated at Ratchaburi Hospital, with some already discharged.

The shooter, identified as 36-year-old Thanakrit from Bang Phae district, allegedly reignited a prior dispute during a chance encounter at the venue. He wielded a .380 calibre firearm at the restaurant, which lacks a business licence, although it is licensed to sell alcohol.

The local police, led by Police Colonel Wachirapong Amornapitak, gathered swiftly to apprehend Thanakrit, who surrendered with his lawyer at 2pm. After interrogation, he led police to retrieve the firearm from his home before returning for further questioning.

Following the incident, concerns have been raised about the restaurant’s operations. The provincial police chief highlighted issues with establishments like these being linked to influential figures and prompted action for its closure due to licence violations.

That's an interesting, albeit confusing, tidbit.
