Shirtless Tourist Sparks Outrage at Thai Restaurant
A Chinese tourist caused public outrage in Prachin Buri after dancing shirtless, coughing up phlegm, and throwing money over fellow diners. Captured on video, the incident drew widespread criticism online for its disrespectfulness. Though police issued a warning, no arrest was made, reigniting debate over leniency toward unruly tourist behaviour in Thailand.

IF he's spitting on someone - thats Assault and victims can file assault charges...    I don't see how the police can ignore that.

They (teh BiB) are clearly lazy in not pushing this further, shirtless is one thing and perhaps only warranting of a warning, but as soon as the idiot started spitting (throwing up phlegm) onto people below, that line as crossed into assault - there is not way anything other than an arrest and charges should following.

This headline is somewhat understated... Its not  "Shirtless Tourist Sparks Outrage at Thai Restaurant"...  the spitting aspect is the most disgusting and extreme...

... "In Yuan Face: Tourist Tosses Money, Spits, and Strips upsetting restaurant goers"

'Word salad'...   Thats far too creative a term for you...  ease off the plagiarism and use your own words...  keep it to single syllables, then we'll know its you !!!

People from China in general lack basic manners.  Why is that?

Out of some reason it´s in their culture and heritage. But, that to expect from a totally isolated country for the general population, which only steer the citizens in one single direction and suppress free speech and thinking as well as forbid evolution among people.

No, it's not in their "culture and heritage". I just dated a Chinese girl and she was very well mannerd.

The issue is just that China is a country with over 1.4 billion people. So just on sheer odds you will have a large number of rude people. Then factor in that a large proportion of those people live in extreme poverty and degraded living conditions on a daily basis and you have an explanation for bad manners. Even when they get catapulted overnight into middle class status by getting a job at a factory it doesn't change their bad manners.

Though economically many Chinese have made the transitiion to middle class, at least by Chinese standards, they have not made the transition to middle class in terms of manners.

The very wealthy Chinese who grew up in a privileged environment have fairly good manners.

I have dated women from several Asian and Latin American countries.

One thing that definitely sets Chinese women apart, they will hawk a loogie like a lumberjack in front of anyone.

No one else seems to do this.

If I see this in a restaurant, I would be side eyeing the guy. I wouldn't book a table opposite him, however 'outrage' is a strong word I reserve for more serious incidents. What using such language does is minimize actual serious incident s that deserve outrage.
