I have a redmi active 5, for 800bht it works well, heart rate and GPS tracking good, lasts 2 days between charges, connects to Strava through the mi fitness app. All you have to do is start and stop the activities on the watch.

Also displays your phone messages and you can take incoming calls without getting your phone out.

Only downside, if you take a 1hr coffee break during your sporting recording it wants to finish the activity.

Which model do you have? It seems that the Xiaomi Redmi Watch 5 active doesn't have a GPS chip. Meaning you need to rely on your smartphone to get the GPS signal https://www.mi.com/global/product/redmi-watch-5-active/specs

I'd rather recommend a true sport watch, even entry level, such as a Garmin Forerunner 55  (GPS included) @ THB6,000 https://www.garmin.com/th-TH/p/741137/pn/010-02562-50#specs

I'm not interested in Garmin. Bad experience many years ago.   Zero need, desire for GPS. I even keep the location on my phone off.

No need for time function I have two Omega's

I'm thinking it's all a big waste anyway as I need to carry my phone presumably and I can just keep up the number on the phone. Check pulse BP before and after exercise.

Yeah, you're right, if I turn the Bluetooth off on my phone the watch loses gnss.
