Transferring visa extension stamp to new Passport - Chaeng Wattana

I got my retirement extension and re-entry permit stamps at Surat Thani-Koh Samui office this year but I'm now living in BKK.  I'm getting a new passport and need to get the stamps transferred into it.  Two questions:  Any problem doing this at CW although the stamps were done in ST?  Second, if it's ok at CW, is there a way to make an appointment online?  I know the site (below) but I don't see any relevant menu item for making this kind of appointment (although they do have Cert of Residence, 90 day report, etc. etc.).

Stamps should be transferred at immigration office where they were issued. 

There is no appointment for transfer of stamps at CW.

At bottom is listed required docs.

Hi,

 

You'd have to get your stamp to be transferred from your old passport

to your old passport at Surat Thani-Koh Samui office where you got the

stamp.

 

I have a friend who was going to do his 90-day report at CW but was

told to do it at the office where he had extended his Non-B visa.

I thought you have to do your 90-day report at the office in the province you currently live.  So what would happen if you moved between getting your visa stamp and filing your 90 day?  That's my situation, I was living in Samui when I got my visa extension, now moved to BKK.  For both my next 90 day (if I do it in person) and transferring my stamps, shouldn't I do it at CW?

Thanks for the link.  Do you know how strict they are about which office?  It's a pain for me to have to go back to Samui and since I don't live there anymore I'm not going to be able to give them a TM30 for there, if that's what item 8 "Copy of TM card" means (although I suspect it might mean TM6 which they're reintroducing).  Also, do you know what item 2 "Certificate from Embassy (if available)" means?

CW may transfer stamps. However generally it's done where the stamps were issued. 

TM6 not required rather TM30 required. 

The "certificate from embassy" is short statement that was provided along with the new pp.

Basically directing Thai immigration to transfer stamps.

Some embassies no longer provide that. Skip it.

Rayong Immigration refused to transfer my son's stamps, even though we live there and do our 90-day/TM30 reports there, as his Extension was issued in CW.  We had to go there to do it.  A right pain!

It is a pain and imo a flaw in the bureaucracy of stamp transfer.

I need to travel with both pp as my reentry permit was issued at DMK and CW immigration won't touch it.

Definitely a flaw.  I wonder if it's better in my case to just travel with both passports until my current extension expires.  Then I'll get the next extension in my new passport and shelve the old one.   Does that work or, when I apply for my next extension, would they make me first transfer the expired one?  Doesn't make much sense but ...

That won't work. They would want stamp transfer done prior to next extension. 

It's not just stamps that are transferred. It's also reference/info of your visa that's transferred.

Thanks, I was afraid of that.  But I may have a route here.  I have applied for the LTR visa and with luck will get it within the next month or so.  If so, no more annual extensions.   If I get it, I wonder if the BOI will insist on the transfer of my current extension and visa info before putting in the LTR stamp ... any idea?  Hopefully not, but this may be kind of new territory.

I'm pretty hopeless on LTR.

Several guys have posted how helpful BOI have been re inquires etc.

Even via email.

Someone with a LTR may advise.
