What is the easiest / quickest way to get a visa for my wife to visit the UK

However, let's be clear - this is your wife's application and (apart from being her husband) you have nothing t do with it; you don't even need to be 'sponsor' if she is evidencing sufficient funds in the bank.

If you are the financial support for the visit you have everything to do with it.

I have recently done the 12th visa application in respect of my wife and in all that time there has never been any financial information provided in respect of my wife.

However, that has been my way and I wouldn't want anyone taking that as advice, it is each to their own.

Information on how to do that would be very helpful please.

Not quite sure what you mean.

When passed to the VFS site you need to make an appointment, they offer various options, fast track etc and at different locations, all have to be paid for. Just take one of the free options.

You also have to submit the documents, they offer various services that involve payment, I ignore those and do it myself so when completed there is no payment to VFS required.

The courier return of passport, my wife asks and pays when doing the biometrics.

Sorry I took it you meant that you could bypass VFS.  But now I understand that you meant the add-on services.

Only two locations Bkk or C Mai.

He doesn't need to be the financial support in this case.

I have done 15+ for my missus and also never include any financial information for her. Different for Schengen visas, of course, where I am literally a nobody.

Visas cannot be renewed, they are only 'used', in the UK or Thailand.

UKVI state that each application is treated on it's individual merits. Obviously, a track record of successfully obtaining visas helps the decision making process.

Not according to the facts presented - and 'no income' suggests not being of pension age.

Indeed for free, all the rest come at a premium.

Think it was only one at Regent House when I started in 2010.

Do you still have to pay for a British visitor's Visa in USD?

Indeed, brexit took away what benefit we did have.

There is a big difference between what you submit and what is stated in a sponser letter. I have a photo of us outside the house embedded in the sponser letter.

The point is that it is not necessary - in fact specifically excluded by UKVI and I would hate less experienced members gaining the impression that photos can be submitted. . No harm in what you do but I have seen applicants try to present 50 photos which just get binned. Photos are totally pointless, can easily be photoshopped and usually show the couple at the beach or legless in a Pattaya bar.

Just using this post to reiterate a point made earlier - the applicant does not attend an interview, at best she will be asked where she is going and if she is satisfied that she has uploaded sufficient documentation. My missus is always asked that question because she only submits a maximum of 6 pieces of paper. Everything is done online and VfS play no part in the decision making process.

No,  you pay in THB. It was 5218 THB when we did it on 17th March but may have changed beginning of April.

Are you saying that all the paperwork is scanned and sent to India or wherever the decision is made?

Does that also apply to Passport renewals?

I never enjoyed that privilege as we are not married.....but I do like the fact that she now gets a visa valid for 3 years.

Book her passage on a rubber dingy from Calais to Dover.  Heck, once she lands she may be on her way to permanent citizenship. And you can visit her in her government paid 5 star hotel.

No, passport renewals are submitted in person, your documents are taken from you and then physically sent to the UK.

Yes to the Asian section of UKVI.

Yes, to HMPO Liverpool for the passports.

Sorry if I didn't make it perfectly clear.

Putting something in a letter is not the same as submitting documents and by distorting what I posted is not very helpful.

People should realise that what they say is guidance and talking about 50 photos and the content in relation to what I said is out of order.

I thought our passport renewals got sent to Corby now? And since the move there have been many problems (there are a few threads about these problems, one of mine included).

That must be something new. When we went to Germany last year for a week, the visa was from 25th May 24 until 16th June 24.

On a previous visit to Germany the visa was the exact time of the trip, 3 days, and that was as an EU family member.

Translations essential for deeds/chanote/Thai marriage certificate. Housebook too with her name in it. If you have strong links to Thailand such as Yellow book, vehicles, Thai bank accounts, driving licences etc. then bombard them with everything. As above, a covering letter is needed too and I, personally consider it essential. It all needs to be scanned and uploaded via the VFS site. This is what I did each time (hence going for the 10 year visa this time). I bought a sanner and scanned and uploaded it myself. VFS offer a paid option if you want them to do the scanning and uploading. FWIW: I did same for a Canadian visa application in the last 6 months and that was sucssessful too. Now, we are working on USA visa for this summer - fingers crossed.

Good luck on the usa visit.

After a deep dive over several years I have concluded it is flat impossible to bring my Thai live-in GF (together for 8 years now) to america for a visit especially with the current administration. Her return trip, expenses paid, could well end in El Salvador!

(There is actually a bitter and expletive-ridden rant about the orange man that I am omitting, but use your imagination).

2023 when the 3 year visa was granted. It is automatically approved for longer periods once you have had X number of previous Schengen visas.
