No.

Go to the airport and leave before you get caught.

Even if the immigration will find i am in overstay, they can block my account? I will leave, but i need few days to settle up something. Thanks.

Overstay  nothing to do with  bank account.

Usual question.

Length of overstay? Fine is 500/day capped at 20k

But if immigration will know about it? They can block it?

Its a 14 days overstay. I will leave as soon as i have something to do before. Thanks

NO.

Have funds in pocket ready to pay fine at airport.

For others., if only few days required you can apply for an extension at immigration and that will be rejected and you will be given 7 days to exit Thailand.

Up to 90 days no ban. 14days=7k

Seems like poor planning.

Border bounce would have been an option.

Take overstay lightly at your own peril

The only reason they would block your account is if they didn't want you to leave the country. Like for a criminal charge or a civil suit, but an overstay they want you to leave.

At the airport after checking in your luggage you pass by Immigration anyway. You go ther, apologize directly for your overstay and pull out the sum that is needed. As already mentioned it's 500Baht per day.

You might get a big stamp in your passport, where the amount of the fine ist done by handwriting.

Good luck, and just stay polite with he immigration officers.

maybe the guy is doing a deal and making 10 billion, so maybe it's "good" planning but somehow didn't have money to fly in and out, pay the 1900 for an extra week, pay the 1900 for an extra month,  or a border run or whatever....anyhow, I digress.

What I found that works is to ACT DUMB.  Act like you don't understand the stamps and that you were sure the date was next month, but don't act dumb for too long.  just dumb face expressions, scratch your head, nod, apologize, act like you had no idea...

Then pay and smile and apologize again.

had two overstays in three trips over about 11 years.  one was the fault of my school and they paid, and the other was my fault from reading some visa stamp that was the maximum allowable day I could start the visa.  first trip to Thailand, paid it going to Poipet, Cambodia (once in 2010, NEVER again!!!  lol.  That place is scamish), ah, wasn't fun, life goes on.  it was like a week I think.

i think my last one was in 2017 and it's only going to happen again if some life apocalypse happens....  none in the current passport and there are only five pages left, I do think that weirdly helps.

anyhow. you will be fine but it will cost you.  always sad to be a backpacker on a string budget but then pay 10,000 when leaving.  met lots of backpackers back in the day who simply just don't check for months ......   for the old guys, we know exactly when.

In what way does that work, what do you achieve by acting  dumb ?

What benefits do you get from acting that way ?

People have overstayed for years and decades with their Thai bank accounts left intact.

The only real change has been that banks nowadays need to check your permission to stay when you go to a branch, so unlike 10 years ago, you probably couldn't get a new ATM card while on overstay etc.

It was even better 20 years ago, when we had the Thai Farmers Bank,

If I had to solve a 10 billion baht problem... I'd buy myself a lifetime visa.

After you get done with your “something to do” business and arrive at the airport immigration-be sure not to flair up any red flags and give them reason to hold you for a closer look that may incite an investigation for possible criminal conduct-that is if they’re not on your tail already. And if that’s the case then you may as well get out of Dodge on a canoe.

Thanks. Appreciate your advice.

That's just silly scaremongering or unrelated to the overstay issue. They check for "red flags" (arrest warrants, travel restrictions) no matter if the person leaving is on an overstay or not.

Did you get the punchline about the canoe?

I nearly had a chuckle about that, had I not remembered what's really happening on the Mekong.

That's why all airports around the world have a 3 letter code so yo don't have to spell loooooong airport names

Make sure you have a shower and shave and dress smartly before you go to the immigration,

... and clean polished shoes and haircut.
