scubascuba3 Posted May 11 Posted May 11 If you are reluctant to buy a new phone, which will be better, maybe try turning on battery saver, uninstall apps you don't use 1

impulse Posted May 11 Posted May 11 If it's a model available in Thailand, have the battery replaced. One of the great things about Thailand is how cheap and easy it is to get someone to crack open a smartphone, tablet or laptop and do repairs and battery replacements. Even if it's not a model available in Thailand, they may have a battery for it. One of my problems is that I sweat so much that sweaty pocket lint gets into my Micro or USB-C socket and corrodes the terminals. In the USA, that's end of life because it's too expensive to crack them open. In Thailand, eezy peezy. And cheap. If your new battery drains quickly, check the battery settings to see what apps are draining it. May be some apps related to location in Thailand. Are you using Grindr more here in LOS? 1

LosLobo Posted May 11 Posted May 11 Here’s a list of things to do to extend battery life: Keep phone out of direct sunlight and hot places. Use battery saver mode daily. Lower screen brightness and use dark mode. Limit background apps and auto-refresh. Turn off GPS, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi when not needed. Minimize notifications and vibrations. Store and charge in a cool, shaded area—ideally between 10% and 80%.
jacnl2000 Posted May 11 Posted May 11 Well, @hotsun, I hope I don’t disappoint you, but your phone might not be the best choice for Thailand’s hot climate. It could offer worse performance and unreliable battery life under the sun. Personally, I’m planning to switch in the near future, perhaps to an Oppo Find X5 Pro, which seems well-suited for use in Thailand. This isn't about nationalism; it’s more about how phones are designed and optimized for today’s market needs.
bkk6060 Posted May 11 Posted May 11 Increased battery usage could be viruses and possibly the Chinese scammers infiltrated your phone.
KhunBENQ Posted May 11 Posted May 11 Heat and age. Most phones have a feature to check battery status (percentage of capacity remaining). Also there are maintenance features that might show possible power eaters. To save battery life I use the stop charging feature. 80% and charging is held. Also don't run it empty to single digit percentages. Yes it costs usage time but better than shortening battery life. In Thailand you will always find some techs who can change battery on about every phone. Go ask what it costs (worth it).
GanDoonToonPet Posted May 11 Posted May 11 Have you checked the battery usage in settings? It should show you how much % of battery each app is using.
