Any chance we would be able to see which poster posts each emoji? IMHO that extra level of anonymization is unnecessary and posters should be required to stand up for how and what they reacted to. Not a big deal but the level of emoji trolling is quite astounding.

I know I can contact support about the trolling but can't be bothered. It's just that I don't see the point of the anonymization of emojis.

No, leads to far too much trouble thats why it was removed.

Of course anti-American posts are ALWAYS welcome on AN .

Muricans are hating on the Brits, Brits are hating on the Muricans and everyone's hating on the French.

Just one big social media love fest.

One solution, is to  have only positive emotions, and if someone needs to express negativity against the posters, they actually have to write one with words, and express why.

And should we all link arms in a circle and sing kumbayah?

I assume everyone here is an adult? Which adults can't handle a negative emoji? It's pathetic.

I've noticed a shift to the right on editorial content, leaning heavily on opinion pieces from the Telegraph.

I suppose that some people would see that as an improvement.

Personally I would prefer more balance in such things.

"It's no longer 100% left-wing nonsense.  This imbalance is unbearable!"

Seems like Muricans hating on Muricans is the biggest “ hate “ fest !!

have no figures but it seems to have a lot more members now

2 + 3 = 5 million…

Numbers published on Friday, April 19, 2024:

ASEANNOW joins The Thaiger in strategic acquisition to expand digital reach in Thailand | News by Thaiger

One possibly overlooked—but potentially important—pre-2000 forum and its location wasn’t mentioned in the list above. You’ll find it referenced in “Planning for International Retirement Migration and Expats: A Case Study of Udon Thani, Thailand” by John Koch-Schulte (2008).

In most large forums—especially platforms like ASEAN NOW (formerly ThaiVisa)—the ratio of active posters to lurkers tends to follow the 90-9-1 rule, based on Jakob Nielsen’s 2006 research:

  • 90% of users are lurkers who read but don’t contribute,

  • 9% post occasionally,

  • and 1% generate the majority of content.

Of course, much can change over two decades.

Ha, ha, I agree with you and thousands of other members also.

We used to see who the poster of the emoji's years ago, sadly the moaners and complainers win again.

These people want anonymity, they project their emoji's from their warrior keyboards.,hiding from repocussions.

I have contacted support for help but I'm told I have been previously been suspended for misuse of the 'report' function and questioning support.... .I give up.

Good luck with your question, sadly I feel that you will get nowhere. 😕

BTW, I used to get bombarded with mostly confused emoji's before they were removed.

Recently I received 50 thumbs down from 1 comment I made, I reckon it's got to be a record.

AN members come from different backgrounds.

Sadly, I feel like the odd one out at times, it seems that if you are not a Brit, a boomer or on the aged pension you don't fit in.

I hope my comment remains, it's the only way to get through to some 🙏

Yeah, so maybe the people giving negative emojis aren't the problem. Maybe there's something wrong with you.

People complaining for thumbs down. What a joke.

Youtube has always operated that way. When you post content, subs have a choice between thumbs up or thumbs down and no Youtuber would last 15 minutes if they started crying every time they got a thumbs down.

I can't believe this is a constant point of discussion. So so so pathetic. They're just EMOJIS!

People really have very shallow lives if these get them so upset.

With a supposed 2 million “users” 50 aint a lot.

i think one million of those “users” might be Bobs various identities.
