If it has rechargeable batteries that cannot be removed, it should be in your hand carry baggage, not checked baggage.

Brilliant! Can it be used on the plane to stave off the abject boredom?

This is a straightforward inquiry regarding the potential legal or criminal risks of bringing a single personal item of a sexual nature, such as a sex toy, into Thailand in checked luggage.

Thai law appears to classify such items as “obscene objects,” which are technically prohibited from being imported, possessed, or sold. Penalties for violations may include up to three years of imprisonment, a fine of up to 60,000 baht, or both. However, it is unclear how strictly this law is applied in practice, particularly in cases involving discreet transport of a single item for personal use.

That said, I’m looking for informed responses from anyone with firsthand experience or credible knowledge of how strictly this law is enforced in practice, particularly when it comes to discreetly traveling with a single item intended for private, personal use.

This is a genuine legal question submitted on behalf of a friend who would like to understand the real-world enforcement risks in order to avoid any unintentional violations while traveling.

The entire thread and question are silly. Do you err, I meant, does he want to know how illegal it is? It's illegal. Case closed.

As far as I know so are "bargirls" but that doesn't stop them

No one is transporting bar girls (women) across the borders unless they are wives.

Post a link to your preferred seller of 'personal toys' on Lazada and I'll pass it on.

Not a good idea. Just tell your friend to contact Lazada. Is this really an issue if any importance or significance ?

Aliexpress not Lazada.

There is no definitive answer - it might simply be a matter of a Customs Officer having a good day or a bad day!

If what you have read appears to show it is illegal, then it is not worth the risk

You don't want an "OH Buggger" moment do you?

Stop it! Have a few extra toys for customs. I'm sure they will appreciate it.

I must admit, I didn't think of that!

Of course.  Try to find a lady customs officer at the airport. She's likely married to a Thai man. She'll appreciate it more than you know.  Bring batteries or make sure it's charged.

I carried one on the plane from Germany to bkk. no issues. Just dont put it in the big bag under the plane.

I am dying to ask, was the aforementioned contraband for yourself?

Not sure what you are thinking of bring in but if you want to try it go ahead and try it. Just don't start moaning if you get caught, we are not interested. You break the laws and get caught then you must pay the price.

If you really want to impress, buy a ticket for the doll.

There was a fad a few years ago that had people carrying around dolls. Some sort of  spirit thing I believe.

An inflated blowup doll could create a few problems at check-in😉.

Do they need a passport to enter?
