I went to Bangkok Bank yesterday to order paperwork for 12 month extension. She pointed out out my deposits now show TPP. So, I've got 9 months of deposits showing FTT and 3 months of TPP.

Anyone here have an issue with Immigration because of this? Just wondering what will be said.

Mine comes directly from SSA and fed pension.

Did your Bangkok bank offer a solution.

Did you obtain a 12 month bank statement?

Problem is BBL take few, days to provide 12 month bank statement.

Ask the bank about "credit advice"

As best I can tell TPP is Third Party Provider

It will take till next week before all statements are ready. It's the same lady working at the bank for years now that's provided the papers for me. All I can do is try. I'm a little late starting paperwork as extension ends 28 May. just wondering if I should go straight to an agent first.

BTW FFT is Fast Fourier Transform

According to Chat GPT, FTT means Funds Transfer Transaction, C-Pilot says Foreign Telegraphic Transfer, which I always believed was correct,  Nejther of these is on the bank book back page of abbreviations.

Yes, FFT is something completely different, used in audio analysis.

Swift transfers will still show as FTT, Us government transfers to Bangkok Bank will now show as TPP, if using the monthly method you should be getting credit advices. Easy to set up at the bank and they will be sent automaticly to your email account. I have received the last three months no problem.

I'm headed to Immigration now to ask?

Thanks

Make sure you let us know what they say and what office. I posted a note early in the thread, show that to them so they know what you are talking about. It shows a one line explanation for the change from FTT to TPP, good luck.

My last BKB Social Security deposit shows as BAHTNET…

Was just going to add again that mine is coming through NY ACH transfer that I think can only go to s Bangkok bank account. Your transfer is going by the ITA route which can go to any bank. That is what my wife has with Krungthai bank.

Just came from Rayong Immigration. I could only ask the same question so many times and never got a straight yes or no. And yes I had my bankbook to show. I'll get my paperwork back from Bangkok Bank next week like the 22nd. and go straight to Immigration. I'll report back then. Thanks

I'm really tempted to start using an agent. Seems like there's always something amiss.

I really really don't want to leave the 800K in a bank here. Just seems like unnecessary paperwork in the end and I'm not confident an heir will get it. Paying an agent 15K  is looking better.

At 78 I say you deserve simplicity.

Using WISE to Bangkok Bank, and putting Long Term in Thailand always arrived as FTT, International Transfer, both on statement and in Bank book.

IO is happy as I use just one account on 1st of every month FROM WISE, which then I transfer to my Current account. In Monthly book there are only 12 INs and OUTs for him to ponder, together with another account with my Deposit, never touched from year to year except for a pittance of interest.

I will agree to the above that I only have the 12 FTT credits to the Bangkok Bank account -- I do make transfers out.

And I always update the passbook right after the FTT monthly transfer as a merge period can cause big headaches.

I too am 78, use to do the 12 monthly deposits - was easy to work with the officer at the Bangkok Bank as I told him what I needed as I was doing my yearly extension - he corrected me and told me to come back in 3 days and he would have all the necessary copies for immigratoin and  then I could deposit 100 baht and update my bankbook on that day I was going to the immigration - same thing each year, he recognized me and gave me all the necessary bank papers needed.  The all I needed to do was make a copy of every page of my bank book - CM immigration.

And for many other applications.   The clue is that is maths, so it can be usefully used in very many situations!

Your op title mentions FFT but that's a typo as the text calls it FTT, Foreign Telephonic/telegraphic Transfer.

Yes Hua Hin Immigration challenged me on that when converting my OA to O visa.

I went to the local BBK branch and had the Foreign Account manager write a short letter of explanation for the IO. End of problem.

The manager told me that different banks and even different branches of BBK could use different anagrams. I believe the former but not the latter.

most banks have different codes for foreign transactions, he was telling you the truth

CM immigration demanded, and Bangkok bank provided, a letter indicating that each of the 12 items

marked "foreign transfer" were "foreign transfers".

When money is sent to Bangkok Bank via Swift, or WISE with Long Term Stay or Purchase Property reason, it is noted as FTT, and on the book and on statements it says International Funds Transfer.
