And that is the problem. Same with the swastika. One nutter uses it, and even though been around for 100s of year prior, it's demonized by snowflakes or organizations the enjoy free press and or control of the press. A rat ... I think they get enough bad press, they don't need any more. Concentrate on their flees, or simple body lice, as they were the true demons

Proper collared, button shirt 😎 Mother would never let us out of the house looking destitute I posted swastikas before on the forum, non Nazi one, and they offended someone, and it got deleted. Nazi one is always, usually, black on 45°, with white background surrounded or draped in red. How any other confuses people simply shows their complete ignorance. 1

Complaining about an emoji, whilst staying completely silent or actually justifying the dehumanisation of Palestinians. Which is more egregious? Another attempt to turn the discussion into the Palestinian issue . This topic isn't about that subject . Palestinian supporters always want to make everything about them and their cause 2

I wouldn't take the chance. Simply raise your hand in a crowd and someone snaps a photo, and you're in trouble for a Nazi salute. I'll stay clear of countries that suppress free speech & expression. Yes, I know TH won't let you discuss the royals or image of TH. Almost as it should be, for us 'tourist' anyway. If you don't have anything nice to say ... stay away That should be on arrival card, or a banner at immigrations, in every country.

Magictoad Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Lineker's excuse is that he DIDN'T KNOW that rats were used by the Nazis to represent Jews in the past. There is a whole lot more that Gary does not know. That's why he should keep out of politics and stick to football. 2 1

The video is a very reasoned, articulate and rational attack on Zionism. In no way does the speaker in the video equate Jews with rats in her speech. As always you have to turn to the Daily Mail for the real facts. The article below has the image of the rat. That rat pic is no way comparable to the Nazi cartoons of jews as rats, which the Daily Mail article also shows https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-14706167/Gary-Lineker-fire-posting-pro-Palestine-video-featuring-rat-emoji-known-antisemitic-slur-Jews.html 2

Bkk Brian Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago 3 minutes ago, Hummin said: We all are, and there is consequences, Yes and he is feeling those now. Lineker’s apology is too little, too late And just like that, the man who was about to be branded the Kanye West of soccer has won himself a reprieve in injury time... Gary Lineker must be hoping that his belated apology for sharing a pro-Palestine video featuring a rat emoji will save both his job and his reputation. But while it will probably achieve the former – this is the BBC we’re talking about – the latter ship sailed long ago. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2025/05/14/linekers-apology-too-little-too-late/ https://archive.ph/B5uKR 1
Cameroni Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago 5 minutes ago, Nick Carter icp said: The spoken content of the video is irrelevant to this story and thread . Why was the cartoon of the rat posted in the video ? Could be any number of reasons, somebody thought the rat is cute perhaps, it's kind of a cute rat photo, not a nasty one like the one in the Nazi cartoons, as shown in the link above.. I think that rat has a tear in its eye. Maybe the author was born in the year of the rat and is studying Chinese astrology. And yes, maybe they were having a dig at Zionism by putting the rat cartoon under the word Zionism. Who knows. Either way, it's perfectly ludicrous to claim that woman's very articulate and balanced speech in some way equates jews to rats, or that rat drawing is the same as the very nasty Jew-rat cartoons of the Nazis. It rather seems to me that apologists of Israel want to discredit this very reasoned attack on Zionism by crying "antisemitism" and indeed they have yet again, in 2025, succeeded in doing so and got Lineker to take it down and apologise. For the innocuous image of a rat. It really is ludicrous. 1 1

He has caused great offence with this video – particularly with [its] egregious use of a rat emoji to illustrate Zionists. BBC should ask him to leave now rather than allowing him to dictate his own terms.”

The video content was an attack on Zionism and rats were used to depict Jews . Quite possible using rats to depict Jews could well be classed as Antisemitism
