Other than sitting at the bar at the entrance in the afternoon and having a few beers, I've only been inside Nana Plaza maybe once in the last 15 years.  If I've been more times than that, I surely don't remember.

Anyway, Nana Plaza was my first bar stop in Thailand 25 years ago. Don't ask me which one. All I remember is that it was on the second or third level and towards the back.  I think the next day I went to check out Woodstock during the afternoon. A nice break from the heat. They used to show movies during the day, and the food wasn't too bad.

My girlfriend (canadian) and I used to spend entire days in Woodstock in 1996-1997 during the rainy season, eating, reading, drinking , playing pool

I guess it got moved to another location for some reason, and now it may be closed, I think.  It's too bad they don't have more bars like that around that area. Something different from the usual go go bars.

In my mind, it was over the second it moved across town to Thonglor.

Admittedly, i had stopped going long before that in 2000 or so,

That kind of thing just doesn't fly anymore, the time for Thailand's ad-hoc charm, unploished but cozy western-style bars and businesses is gone.

Got to love the Emojinauts following me around to give a thumbs down on Billboard and Rainbow 5 LOL

Exactly, as I would like to know what bars the thumbs down emojis guys think are the best bar as I hope they don't say it's the Ladyboy bars.

Look, another LOL. Based on their political leanings, they definitely like the Ladyboy bars 🙂

It was and still is. I was in there 4 days ago. 2nd floor.

hmm, to me Sexy Night means Det 5 at the long-defunct Soi Zero.

not current on this <deleted> at all, the whole scene lost its appeal decades ago,

No, it was a guy posting on here. A Brit working in Bangkok for years.

He ended up marrying his barfine and the rest, as they say, is history.

I was partial to Woodstock.

since then, no clear favourite has emerged and i can't say I have set foot in the plaza in nearly 10 years, though I do pass it most days,

Great burritos and never got tired of reading the Farside cartoons in the john😃

Sexy Night in the plaza predates soi zero, it's been there for 4 decades.

All the bars have changed so much since 2014 when the government clamp down happened.  But my favourite used to be the little one on the right with a big sign dedicated to Arabs and Moslems; apologising in advance for offending them and suggesting they don't come in.

"We apologise for our beautiful girls and our beer and whisky which you can't have so why don't you go away.

Yes I remember that open air bar in the 80s-90s is it still there 🤔

I met my Thai wife 26 years ago at the Carnival, big gogo bar located on the third floor of Nana plaza at this time. It was a beautiful encounter and we have a son who is now 23 years old . . .
