Absolutely disgusted watching people go straight in to swimmingpool without showering first.

What is most remarkable, is those who drink quite a bit, never leaves for restroom, but occasionally jumps in to the swimmingpool.

You are not only protecting yourself, but the other swimmers from illnesses. Swimmers ear, skin infections or irritations, and respiratory issues are all things you can get from swimming in public pools where occupants do not shower before entering

One should rinse from head to toe before entering the pool, to rinse off any dirt, sweat or residue etc. from the body and also to let the hair absorb the clean shower water rather than the chlorine treated water.

I didn't answer your survey. It's too limited.  I normally hit the outdoor shower first, but sometimes I forget.

The reasons to shower before entering the pool are to wash off the oil and sweat that are detrimental to the pool's filtration system.  If you put on sunscreen, it's best to shower again before you re-enter the pool.  (and no the sunscreen does not protect you once you're in the pool. It washes off very easily).

I shower before and after, there is no knowing how effective the chlorination regime is.

Saltwater pools are better than chlorine or bromine.

Saltwater pools still use chlorine, it is generated by electrolysis instead of chemical addition.

I'm from Australia and I've never heard of anyone showering before entering a private pool or the ocean. A public pool, maybe, given the number of people. Maybe it is a European thing?

Too right
