Samsung Air conditioner – its stuck – Ive had enough

I have a Samsung Air conditioner ( Samsung 12000BTU inverter Model AR13TYHZCWKX ) in my bedroom. Its been working fine until a few days ago . Now when I switch the AC unit on using the hand remote control , and set the temperature to say 19 °C the AC starts and shows the temperature of 19 °C , but without me doing any thing , within a few seconds the AC digital readout changes to show 31 °C . So no matter what I try using the hand held remote control ( changing the temperature / different cooling mode Etc ) the AC unit always shows 31°C . So I decided to take the AC  unit apart and clean every thing ( using a power washer ) thinking that the stuck 31°C temperature was being caused by dirt / dust. 

 

After cleaning the AC, the stuck  31°C temperature issue is still there. Thinking that the  31°C temperature issue , may be due to a dirty temperature sensors , I cleaned the 2 sensors ( attached to the cooling coil ) but doing that had no effect. 

 

The company where I purchased the AC unit from and installed it , is around 180 Km round trip, and I live in a small village that has one back street shop that sells AC units, and Ive met the shops  so called AC technician , hence wanting to try and track down the bedroom AC  31°C temperature issue my self. 

 

So after reading about my AC unit problem , has any one an idea what I could try next myself.

Samsung is a failing brand for AC's

 

Haier , Gree etc are priced economically and work much better

Could the display be toggling between set point and actual room temperature?  Does the 33 (in the video) or 31 (as you wrote) lower as the room temperature comes down?

Maybe pull out that crimp in the red wire and also wipe down the dongle sensor and see if that helps

 

wacky idea but you never know

Thanks , when the AC unit is showing ( some times 33 or 31 ) but the remote is set at ( 19 °C)  the AC unit starts to blow out cold air , not sure about the ( Could the display be toggling between set point and actual room temperature?  ) .

Looks old, last year I got rid of my Samsung and upgraded to a TCL 24k BTU inverter for 11k baht on Lazada, WOW it's good, whisper quiet, do yourself a favour and buy one

Thanks , I pulled out both sensors and cleaned them , But I'm not sure if some where on the AC unit there may be another sensor that detects the actual room temperature .

Chucked my Samsung and replaced it with Haier ...... The Haier is worse than the Samsung.

It was purchased in the year 2021 , but its only been used in the hot season at night time, for a couple of hours.

Have you tried changing the battery in your remote control? I had a similar problem but it was a different make. Changed the battery and worked perfectly.

Change the coil thermistor. 190 THB. 10 min job. Can do self.

ac units need a lot of maintenance.

 

you don't like fans? it's not that hot most days now ... I prefer fans when it's not too hot.

Now thats a good idea, finding a new coil thermistor may not be so easy

 Couple of things, maybe the remote control temperature is displayed for a few seconds to show you your remote input worked then it reverts to the actual room temperature. 
Secondly, have you done any maintenance to the condenser ( outside unit). Does that fan work?
Is the  evaporator ( inside unit) fan working as advertised .

Also most units have a reset switch or a complete power off( breaker) for a few minutes to reset.

 Cheers , in the past when Ive used the hand held remote control, the temperature shown on the hand held remote control , was always the same as shown on the AC units display , and the requested temperature shown on the AC display always matched. Ive had a look at the outside AC condenser wall mounted unit, and power washed the fan , and it seems to be working ok. when the bedroom AC unit is displaying the 31 °C , the air blowing from the AC units fan is cold.

Seems like a known problem and the fixes for it, worth a shot.

Cheers, the AC  bedroom unit as far as I can see has no actual '' reset switch '' but the AC unit user guide says to reset the AC unit, turn  off the power for at least 10 Minuets , which I have done, but still no luck.

 Ive just come across this YouTube video, which shows the same problem as I have, but its in the Indian language , so I'm not sure what the fix is.

Search Samsung fault code from remote control

 

I used to press Cancel on another <deleted>ty brand. It searched all the codes, then I checked the meaning of the error code online (or maybe check your manual).
