You mean like shutting down the open border and deporting illegals. Said he'd do it and he's done it and doing it. Do you think this is a bad thing? MAHA. Being done. DOGE. Cutting billions in waste. DEI. Getting that done. Men out of women's sport's. Well that's been signed off. From what's been happening Trump seems to be a very rare example of a politician actually doing what they campaigned on.

Remember Joe was going to raise taxes on billionaires?

Yes, but there are ways billionaires get around this.

Offhsore havens.

And ... sometimes they just move to another country.

Apple set up in Ireland because of low taxes. So loss of jobs in the US.

And ... Elon is a billionaire that is using his money for projects that benefit people, in my opinion. The average human being cannot undertake massive projects. So in some cases like Elon, billionaires might be a good thing.

You can't raise taxes on billionaires unless a wealth tax is implemented.    But, wealth taxes don't work.

Billionaires and their lawyers are typically smarter than government employees.

They have a moral responsibility to do sth with their massive wealth.

Elon seems like he's doing projects to help humanity.

Bill Gates is hated because of vaccines? But didn't he spend a fortune trying to find a cure for malaria?

Not sure what Jeff Bezos is doing.

They do not have a moral responsibility to do anything, just because they are wealthy. They have a moral responsibility to pay whatever taxes they cannot legally avoid.

Didn't Jeff Bezos give us Amazon? Why is that not enough?

What is a user tax, VAT?

The more you use the more tax you pay. Someone who owns a 10 million dollar home etc vs a person living day to day in an apartment.

There should be no outs or loopholes.

You could make that argument I suppose.

But my guess is loads of people hate the MAGA team just because of the whiff of money surrounding that administration. Regardless of what they do. A lot of people just resent and do not trust very wealthy people.

The "they are all the same" narrative well and truly blown out of the water.

Yet the Democrats are now the party of the rich. Harris outspent Trump by more than two to one.

She also trotted out her own line up of billionaires during the campaign .

This should be funded at the state and local level.

Fine idea.

Republicans might get a big shock, though, when the bills come home and they find the richer Democtratic States that fund the Federal budget, are not subsidising their spending.

I doubt anyone paying attention will be shocked.

Parents should pay for their kid's meals.

If some kids are going to get free lunches, all kids should get free lunches.

This is another dumb talking point.

WIth low unemployment, why is there so much spending on food stamps?

The federal budget needs to be cut.

RFK jr is trying to ban certain coloring agents in foods and drinks.

Very long overdue and the best way to support healthcare is the banning of chemical agents in food and drink.

Looks like people need (forced) protection to stay healthy.

There is a long way to go and getting rid of food lobbyists is only the first step.

Cooking oils, corn syrup and added sugar need to go!

Banning of certain commercials will also help.

A small step so far but it has the potential to change the whole USof A and of course the rest of humanity.

Higher tax on bad foods,is better than paying taxes on imports.

he also wants to get ultra-processed foods out of school lunches.

nice job subjugating your ego and admitting at least one point on your opposing team is positive.

maybe the only guy on your team to do that ever on AN.

Funniest thing is, this big government micromanaging what you can eat, and how business operate is exactly what maggots blame on lefties. Add to it that a few years back Texas was celebrating coal rolling and Iceing teslas,  now we see what money can buy.

Now he needs to look at the beef industry, hormones, steroids and pink slime killing exports.

Even before tariffs the beef export was sn issue.

Let cows be cows.

Some countries will never buy it, we lucky in Thailand to have a choice of quality beef from different countries.

Anyway he on right track.

Food stamps/WIC is stupid. If you want to subsidize the poor, just give them money.

Food stamps and WIC can only be spent on food. Totally necessary and not to be cut, as it would hurt many families with children and would bring on crimes committed against who stopped them. Some trade for cash but that happens and not much can be done about it. Giving people money has them spend it on things that aren't important.

Women, Infants and Children (WIC) is somewhat limited, but Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) is pretty wide open. WIC is generally given in addition to SNAP.

Do you believe poor people do not think their children are important?

Again, if you want to subsidize the poor, just give them money and let them decide what's important.

The problem with that, and which happens anyway with the Snap, is that some will trade for cash to buy drugs and alcohol, the children be damned. You can't let people who's thinking can be off much of the time, decide what's best for their families. The reason it's illegal to use Snap or WIC for other things , is because some have misused them in the past. Some rich people don't care much about their children, as well as some poor, so it's left up to common sense. Don't give them the chance to misuse the handouts.

If a drug addict has WIC or SNAP, they will just buy stuff and trade it to the dope-man or use it in disreputable stores for fifty cents on the dollar.

Treating parents like children makes little sense to me. Just give them the money.

Yes, but it keeps some who would be tempted to just use the cash for other things to use it for food. Not everyone has someone who will trade cash for food stamps. Making it easier to use it for drugs by just giving them cash has them not thinking otherwise. People hooked on drugs will do it anyway. There's also those who buy cigarettes instead of food for their kids, as addictions are hard to keep at bay. I understand if you give money to legitimate buyers they'll use it for food but humans are easily tempted.
