Indeed, trickle-down theory is garbage that rich Republicans use to brainwash poor Republicans into thinking it will benefit them.  And they fall for it.

We do benefit from high taxes and deficit spending.

It seems very unlikely this biggly unbeautiful bill will pass the Senate.

Rand Paul: Cuts in ‘big, beautiful bill’ are ‘wimpy,’ ‘anemic’ and would ‘explode the debt’

https://thehill.com/homenews/senate/5317949-rand-paul-big-beautiful-bill-would-explode-the-debt/

"Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) said he would’ve been willing to vote for President Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill Act even with the “wimpy and anemic” spending cuts, but the current bill would “explode the debt.”

“Somebody has to stand up and yell, ‘The emperor has no clothes,'” he said. “And everybody’s falling in lockstep on this, pass the ‘big, beautiful bill,’ don’t question anything.”"

Why do the leftists here claim that everyone that does not hate Trump loves everything about him.

All your talk of fealty, dear leader and whatnot just shows you guys for the liars you are.

Virtually everyone on the right has been pointing out Biden’s cognitive decline for a few years. The left called the out as liars, said the clips were “cheap fakes” and anyone in the press pool was kicked out if they asked about. They said Biden was sharp as a tack.

Now everyone knows, and admits that the people on the right were correct, but they (the left) are insisting tgat they weren’t lying, they just had no way of knowing.

So the left has been claiming Trump is in cognitive decline for at least eight years, when he clearly has not been.

So, the lying left can tell when it’s convenient for them, but it’s impossible to tell when it’s inconvenient for them.

Rank and file leftists: Arrogant, ignorant, incompetent and dishonest.

Google's AI analysis of trickle down theory:

Criticisms of Trickle-Down Economics:

Inequality:

A primary concern is that tax cuts for the wealthy disproportionately increase income inequality, with limited benefits reaching lower-income individuals or the middle class.

Limited Growth:

Studies have shown that tax cuts for the wealthy have a limited effect on overall economic growth and job creation.

Misinterpretation of Supply-Side Economics:

Some economists argue that "trickle-down economics" is a mischaracterization of supply-side economics, which focuses on stimulating economic activity by lowering marginal tax rates. Thomas Sowell, for example, argues that supply-side economics is not a "trickle-down" theory.

Lack of Empirical Evidence:

Many studies have found that tax cuts for the wealthy do not produce the predicted benefits, with some research indicating that they may even worsen income inequality.

Demand-Side Focus:

Critics argue that trickle-down economics neglects the importance of demand in driving economic growth, suggesting that increasing income for lower-income individuals may be a more effective way to stimulate the economy.

In Summary:

While some proponents argue that tax cuts for the wealthy create incentives for investment and job creation, the majority of economists view "trickle-down economics" as a flawed theory with limited empirical support. Studies consistently show that such policies primarily benefit the wealthy and do not significantly impact broader economic indicators like growth and employment.

I think the whole narrative of the press working for Biden has some truth but is exaggerated. I can remember the lead up to his last State of the Union - the focus of all the press was on Biden's mental acuity but then he did a really good job which took the pressure off for a while. There was no shortage of people asking questions and after the debate with Trump all bets were off. I am not saying he didn't have issues but this notion that he was totally brain dead and the press ignored it  is overstated in my opinion.  Trump has given reporters plenty of ammunition to question his mental state - just for totally different reasons - he's said and done a lot of weird stuff.

<Snipped for brevity> One assumes you understand the cuts to social services are required to fund tax cuts for the wealthy. In addition the tax cuts for the wealthy in Trump 1.0 put the economy trillions in debt. The proposed OP Act will increase debt by a further 4 trillion over ten years. All this whilst Trump proposes the anti missile shield for USA at an enormous cost which many in the military claim is a waste of money. At a much smaller scale, but still in the millions p.a. is the cost to the tax payer for Trump's infatuation for golf.

Love to know the cost for Secret Service protection whilst his family swans around the world doing business deals which Trump will directly profit from. Given Trump and Co boast about their billion dollar deals, how about the Trump family pay for Secret Service protection whilst on business trips.

The work requirement 80 hours a month, and includes volunteer work.

Are the homeless able bodied? Giving the healthcare just facilitates their staying homeless.

Only the focus of the non-mainstream press was talking about it. Was the legacy media calling for Biden to take the Montreal Assessment like they were Trump? No.

Trump says some boneheaded stuff, but he sounds no different today than he did ten years ago.

Besides, per the left here, he is the stupidest man to ever walk the face of the Earth, he has an excuse to say boneheaded stuff.

I love tge rhetoric form the left. It loses them credibility with more and more people every day.

No.  You can actually spend the same or more tax dollars and reduce the deficit at the same time.  That is accomplished by raising the revenue portion of the budget.  For example, spend more on IRS staff to allow more auditing of the high income taxpayers.  Reduce the tax dodges that can only be used by those with enough money to hire the top tax attorneys/consultants.

The USA is near the bottom of the OECD countries in terms of tax rates.

In 2023, the United States had a tax-to-GDP ratio of 25.2% compared with the OECD average of 33.9%. In 2022, the United States was ranked 31st out of the 38 OECD countries in terms of the tax-to-GDP ratio.

It’s not high income earners evading taxes. They are the ones taking advantage of boneheaded social engineering tax deductions. They generally have too much to lose to risk an audit. Get rid of those, and develop AI to audit every return.

You are claiming tax rates are low, but then you use tax-to-GDP to try to show that.

Almost half the population pays no federal income taxes.

1) Adding IRS stall will not result in huge numbers that you think.

2) Places like the EU hammer the middle with taxes.   Is that you want.   The US tax system is more progressive than Europe.

https://www.aei.org/economics/a-quick-look-at-americas-progressive-federal-income-tax-code/

3) The US is currently spending at 22% of the GDP.   Show me when the USA collected more than 19% of the GDP in revenue.   The last time the US had a budget surprlus spending was at less than 19% of the GDP.

Federal spending is out of control and needs to be cut.

In 2024. Medicare cost 865 billion or 3% of the GDP.

Social Security cost 1.5 trillion or 5% of the GDP.

Medicaid cost 618 billion for 2.1% of the GDP.

Then toss in other mandatory social spending programs that bring the total cost of all these programs at 4.1 trillion.

ending

Discretionary spending is 1.8 trillion.   This non military and military spending.

Then there is 881 billion to service the national debt.

The total spending is 6.8 trillion for 23.4% of the GDP.

The last time the US had a balanced budget spending was about 18% of the GDP.

In 2022 the USA saw near record revenue at a tad under 19% of the GDP, and the US still saw a 1.4 trillion dollar deficit.  As you can see the dems built a government that we can't afford.
