Officials at Doi Suthep-Pui National Park in Chiang Mai have temporarily closed access to three popular waterfalls due to safety concerns following heavy rainfall and the risk of flash floods. The decision reflects a proactive measure to ensure visitor safety and prevent accidents.

The three closed waterfalls are Mae Sa and Tat Mok in Mae Rim district, along with Mok Fah in Mae Taeng district. The closure was prompted after the waterfalls' waters turned murky, signaling possible danger. Park officials will monitor the situation closely and reopen the sites once conditions are deemed safe.

In response to the heavy downpours, local authorities have also issued warnings to residents living near creeks adjacent to the park, advising them to be vigilant against potential overflow and flooding.

The adverse weather conditions have impacted daily life in downtown Chiang Mai, where deep floodwaters have made commuting to schools and offices challenging. In response, some residents have taken precautionary measures, relocating their vehicles to higher ground, including bridges and elevated roads, to prevent flood damage.

This situation underscores the importance of heeding safety advisories and environmental warnings, particularly as weather patterns grow more unpredictable. Authorities continue to monitor the affected areas to provide timely updates and ensure public safety during this period of inclement weather.
