The last thing in the world Samui needed was more popularity. I left 10 years ago as it became unbearable with the number of tourists, the traffic, the congestion, the Russians, the filth, the grime, the overpricing, and the obnoxious attitude of so many of the local people who were completely jaded. Yikes. No thanks.
The problem with this is what would you invest the money in here in Thailand? The Thai stock market is a joke, the economy is faltering, real estate prices are not increasing significantly, interest rates are low, where would you get any real rate of return?
