The British military is to spend more than £1 billion on artificial intelligence and a hacking attack team, the Defence Secretary has announced.

John Healey vowed to give the Armed Forces more power online to target hostile states such as Vladimir Putin’s Russia, as he warned that “the keyboard has become a weapon of war”.

The offensive operations will be conducted through a new Cyber and Electromagnetic Command, which will also oversee a £1 billion investment in upgraded targeting systems using an artificial intelligence “kill web” that connects military systems.

I remember reading that the higher ups in Russia do not communicate electronically.  They apparently do everything verbally, in writing and use old typewriters for memos to communicate.

Sonthe UK are openly srating they WILL use cyber attacks on Russia?

 

Pretty sure saying that directly is an act of war. I think Mt Healy might back track those comments quite soon, imagine how the UK, US or any of the NATO counrtries would act if it were said by Russian military...double stanards of the west as usual

The UK has the stones to come out and say it. The cowardly Russians OTOH have done it for decades but won't admit it as they're a bunch of *****es.
