Kicking while another is down is and has always been a cowards act. This isn't a fight using martial arts. Locals here think they're all muay thais using haphazard kicks because they don't know how to use their hands or fear breaking them.

 

The majority of gun owners in the US are legitimate owners, hunters, target shooters and carriers for self defense. If someone comes at you with a weapon and you're carrying it isn't a cowards way but the person attackings mistake. Here they use sticks, machetes, guns and knives, and most of them are carrying illegally. Not for self defense but to intentionally attack others.

They wanted to hunt s**t tourists  with slingshots for breaking curfew and not wearing masks. 

 

Later they also targeted foreigners on scooters not wearing helmets.

Problem solved.

 

Better yet, Thailand should start making patrons pay for each drink after it’s served.

 

Too easy for drunks to complain after ordering round after round.

 

While there may be instances of bill padding more often than the rounds get out of hand until check bin time.  Then it’s OMG.

 

Periodically checking ones bin can resolve the potential for bill padding before it turns into an international incident.

 

While not exactly the same I find it good humor that can apply to Thai bouncers.

Looks like they didn't know a thing about fighting so resorted to the usual kick after they're down act. Still not a reason to gang up 3 against one, kicking him while he's down, for a slap. A man that can handle himself can subdue another with help with no resort to letting it get out of hand. This , like another mentioned, happens because of a certain mentality against foreigners, as well as other locals.
