From what i see in Thailand  (i'm not up to date on other countries, though US ads seem to show men as lightly bearded canines begging for a cookie ) ..

 

in Thailand with older guys, many retired and thinking of themselves as well educated and worldly ,   I often observe disparities in age and a definite absence of what , imo, is a feeling of happiness and sociability with their thai female partners.   

 

I kinda agree that some of these guys look well meaning (What would you like,dear) , while the females look distracted and uninterested.   Unless shopping, of course.
