A flag stuffed in a plant pot and some limp bunting. 🙂 = The fall of western society.

This is obviously just some individual chancing it,  not anything official.

However it suits the Baronesses' agenda in being outraged at how the gays are taking over. Anyone else would have just had a quiet word and let it get taken down.

A bigger concern is that the bunting is dangling in the food. 😮

Much ado about little but it gives the anti-LGBT+ crowd something more to moan about.

Support for the people who would throw them off a roof top in a heartbeat.  “Queers for Palestinian “

I don’t understand the logic behind that.

Just like the cosplay dressing up like the people who put them into the crematorium.

You get misinformed people in any community. Like Gays For Trump.

You also get extreme views in any religion, like the Christian pastor who said he would gladly shoot gays in the head.

I'm not interested in discussing anything about the Palestine/Israel issue.

Some valid points.

Except I don’t think “Gays for Trump” are misinformed.

On the contrary, I suspect they’re more intelligent and informed than the average gay.

That’s why they’re “Gays for Trump “.   They see through the BS the left is producing.  They don’t follow like sheep.

Similar to black Americans who have fled the Democratic Plantation.

Blacks for Trump.

Their founder Jeff Giesa wouldn't agree with you.

"Giesea was not publicly involved in the 2020 election and has since denounced Trump. Reflecting on his past support for Trump, Giesea wrote in a 2022 blog post that, "By the 2020 election, I had lost passion for Trump and didn’t participate" while advocating that the American Right break from Trump.[20] In another post, he described January 6 as a "coordinated attempt to interfere in the electoral process" and described how this realization impacted him personally.[21] In June 2023, he endorsed Biden in an article titled, "The Trumpist Case for Biden." He wrote that "President Biden is more authentically pro-America than any of the leading Republican candidates including Trump or DeSantis."[22] In August 2024, he endorsed Kamala Harris for President, writing that "Trump is fundamentally unfit."[23]

No, I've not commented on the Palestine issue on this site.  I've actively avoided it because it never ends well. Just one comment in response to TCMs Queers For Palestine assertion because it's about an LGBT matter.  Nothing about the current situation.

Please don't misrepresent me.

The whole pride thing is very odd.

Why should people be proud of their sexual preference?

It doesn't make any sense.

Right. Don't ask, don't tell, and don't be obvious. Why wave a flag, calling attention to the fact that you're out-of-step with the norm. The gays I know don't call attention to themselves; and are readily accepted into our circle for traits that matter, which doesn't include sexuality.

There are many LGBTQ people who are visible as LGBTQ people without any efforts to be obvious. Others would like to not be in the closet but have no choice. You really don't get it. You're obviously accepting of gay people and good on you for that but in much of the world and even in large areas of more socially advanced nations the oppression of LGBTQ people is often very severe.

The Pride movement was started for political motivations to try to mitigate that situation. It's not a perfect movement by any means, but doing nothing and accepting the global status quo was not a good option either. If you actually think suggesting that everyone just hide away would have advanced LGBTQ civil rights globally, that's insane. Of course there have been backlashes, but really being visible is a necessary first step towards civil rights.

Exactly, and I would just add that, lose visibility and things would start going backwards very quickly. Steps are already being taken by the religious right to reverse equal marriage rights.

For marriage rights to be equal, 1 would need to be selected as the 'woman', so alimony and house ownership could be assigned later.

Of course not. It would be man and man or woman and woman. Spousal support would be defined by factors other than gender. The same applies in straight marriage, although often it goes to the woman because of personal circumstances.

So one disgruntled member represents the entire movement?

Sounds hypocritical based on your previous posts .

Extreme views, not everyone in the homosexual community agrees on everything.  True?

It’s the transing kids thing and men in girls’ showers and sports that has people pushing back,  not the religious right.

Fair enough.  Your choice but I do have an observation.

You’ve mentioned that in a few posts already.

On other topics including “Pride” you have no problem voicing your opinion.  You appear opinionated and outspoken.  All good.

You have no issue denouncing “Gays for Trump” as misinformed.  I could say according to who but that’s not my point.  On the forum I have observed no one supporting “Gays for Trump”.

The “Queers for Palestine “   movement appears to have more support on the forum based on my limited reading of the Palestinian threads.

My guess and only a guess is you refrain on the subject because you could be an Israel supporter and wish not to engage with the “Queers for Palestine “ supporters on the forum.  Some may be staunch allies on other topics.

It just seemed a little out of character for someone that normally has no issues voicing their opinions

Just an observation.  That’s all.

I won't be drawn on the Palestine/Israel question either here or in real life because it's so divisive and people will interpret anything you say as taking sides. As I said, it never ends well.

Similar with the Trump thing. It's just too tribalistic. I only mention Gays For Trump as it's LGBT related, which I know a bit about.

Even trans issues I only interject if I see something that is evidently untrue, unfair or plainly anti-LGBT.

As for being opinionated that infers arrogant views. Having forthright opinions isn't arrogance.

I understand the concerns on both those issues but that doesn't excuse attacking people and calling for bans on Pride, name calling etc.

Its the religious right who are actively campaigning now to repeal marriage equality, in the U.S. at least. Once they get that it will be other hard fought for gay rights under fire.

You eff with peoples kids, you lose any support you ever had.

I do not think most gays support this idiocy, but they are on the wrong side of this issue.

No. The “religious right” has never changed their position, the left is pushing parent to the right.

Please keep believing open borders, transing kids and men in girls’ showers and sports is the hill to die on, at least until after the midterms.

Don't paraphrase my words. I didn't say they changed their position, I said they are actively campaigning now. See here:

https://www.nbcnews.com/nbc-out/out-politics-and-policy/lawmakers-9-states-propose-measures-undermine-sex-marriage-rights-rcna193743

As I said in my post above with TCM I'm not interested in debating trans issues, so you'll have to rant at someone else.

As for your last paragraph you have no idea what I think about those issues. Just easier to assume and criticise first isn't it? But for your information my interest in the midterms is zero. I'm British.
