The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed the return of Nattapong, aged 35, who was tragically kidnapped from Kibbutz Nir Oz amidst the brutal attacks on October 7, 2023. Devastatingly, his body was found in Rafah by the Israeli forces in a coordinated effort involving the Israel Security Agency, marking a painful end to his harrowing story. Nattapong, hailing from Phrae province, was held captive until his untimely demise months ago, according to official sources. The Royal Thai Embassy in Tel Aviv is diligently liaising with Israeli counterparts to ensure that his remains are returned home, respecting the wishes of his grieving family. The Thai government, prosecuting its duty with determination and sensitivity, pledges that the retrieval of deceased Thai hostages from the volatile Gaza Strip back to Thailand will remain a priority. Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra has extended heartfelt condolences to the family, reiterating Thailand's steadfast plea for a peaceful resolution to the ongoing conflict. The government stands firm in its commitment to take appropriate actions for those affected by the turmoil, highlighting the urgency for a diplomatic path forward. In the face of such loss, the call for tranquillity resonates louder than ever. Labour Minister Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn has announced that Nattapong's family will receive comprehensive support, including a 40,000-baht funeral allowance, unpaid wages, and an additional 64,000 baht for retirement benefits accrued. The costs of funeral arrangements abroad will also be addressed, ensuring that the family experiences some solace amid the tragedy. To date, 42 Thai workers have lost their lives in the chaos, with 39 bodies successfully returned. This ongoing ordeal underscores the human cost of conflict and the imperative of international dialogue and resolution. Adapted by ASEAN Now from Bangkok Post 2025-06-09

Sadly this Thai worker was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. My thoughts go out to his family. 1

Why should they respect them or the thousands of Palastenian civilians that also invaded Israel. Some taking hostages and murdering innocent Israelis? 1

Rolo89 Posted Tuesday at 03:44 PM Posted Tuesday at 03:44 PM Israel will have done their best to protect civilians, but when the enemy is as evil as Hamas sadly people in the wrong place pay the ultmate price. 1
bannork Posted Tuesday at 05:12 PM Posted Tuesday at 05:12 PM A tragic end that must have put his family through absolute hell since October 7th. The roller coaster of emotions, hoping for a favourable outcome , yet fearing the worst, must tear at the sanity of even the strongest person in these circumstances.

Indeed... the UAE Foreign minister, an Arab himself speaks eloquently of this: And in 2017... he predicted a lot of the growing troubles !!... He's like an Arab version of Gordon Murray, speaking with experience and knowledge without fear of being woke or sensitive to 'needs' and 'minorities'... (this one has actually done the rounds quite a lot) 1

And The Palestinians need to do a lot more to promote a Palestinian state without Hamas. - Yes Israel has committed atrocities including the deliberate starving of innocent children and the destruction of hospitals and health care facilities and supplies and there should be severe punishment. Israel needs to remove the main instigator Netanyahu who has created a very bad image for Israel, flying in the face of the very awful events of many decades back. 1
