My wife is dual national UK/Thai and we need to renew her passport. We live in Chiang Mai

Hi I'm wading through the form (my wife is naturalised or whatever the expression is) and it asks for details of her GRANDPARENTS that frankly we haven't got. Is this necessary? We just need to renew her passport that has now expired.

I'm looking at the VFS web site and it ONLY talks about visa applications - I ring the bangkok number but it seems to give only web info - no chance to talk to anyone.

I assume this is the problem section. If it was me I would just write an explanation of why the info is not available on a separate piece of paper.

Surely, none of the "get it right" criteria apply to you wife's application, so no need to complete section 4?

I think Upnotover and howerde got it right (Unless your wife's passport was issued before 12/31/93).

Just ignore my advice. I'm not even the from the UK.

Smokin Joe:

Writing a date as 12/31/93  is a bit of a giveaway that you are not from the UK!
