The locals are fed up with the annoying tourists.

As I thought, no experience with children or women besides what you pay for, and you think you can comment on what others with families do. I stay civil with my ex for my child's benefit. I will take her out of this country for her future.

Have you informed your ex, you intend to remove her daughter from the country.

You understand it would be prevented by the Thai authorities if she objected, no matter who has custody.

She knows she will go, our daughter,  but doesn't understand it has to be as soon as possible for her to keep up with the curriculum for her age. If she objected, any judge in his right mind knows the west is a better choice for children. It's their job to understand what's in the best interest of the child, and western schools are light years ahead of Thai schools, as is the living conditions. Her past history of giving away children has already buried any chance she would have had, and her mental condition is easily diagnosed.

So you are basing it on your opinion?
So you think a judge will agree to seperate her from her mother? To a country with terrible health care? With mass shootings and riots in the streets? To a country where she doesn’t have any friends?

I think you are going to be disappointed again.

Actually Thai family court tend to rule Thai children should not be removed from the country and Thailand is the best country for them.

I certainly wouldn't want a 68 year old man removing an 8 year old Thai girl from the country.

Don't think the USA, where many schools have gun/knife/drug searches at the school gates, is better than Thai schools.

I hate having to agree with you!

No, I base it on facts. A judge has to decide who has the best interests of the child in mind. She gave her first daughter away at 9, the second to her ex bf at 11. Got the second one back, as he didn't want her,  left her at grandmas for awhile, then put her with her first daughter in another province, where she goes to school one day a week.

Anyone who watches the local news here, and those in the court system are well aware of what goes on here daily, how the men are, how women are treated, how bad the schools are, the living conditions, the salaries, and how much better living in the US is.

Free health care isn't a prerequisite to staying in a country so behind.

I have a friend, an English school owner close by, trained in America, who is 71, who has told me , "If she loves that child, she will let her go soon". He knows all about the US, schooling there and visiting many times, and will talk to her and her husband, who also doesn't want any kids. It doesn't matter anyway, as I will take her to America because she doesn't want the responsibility of a child, especially as she ages, as her past history has shown. A judge that sees a father wanting to give his daughter the best possible future has to let her go. Past history is a good indication of future behavior, and only a very disturbed judge couldn't see that in my ex.

You have no idea what Thai courts do, as foreign children leave here all the time with their fathers. No one in their right minds thinks Thailand is a better country for children. Again, you go by videos and don't know what goes on in America otherwise. I lived there 62 years, and had 5 children in schools with no problems whatsoever.

You know they speak Thai in Thai courts right? So you will have no idea either.

Are you going to get a translator or just use google translate on your phone?.

Dont assume Fred. It will get you in trouble.

I suspect all non-Americans (including Thai judges) think the same of the USA as me.

But excluding education,

You're 68 and the girl is 8, the chances of you making 78 are almost ZERO, what happens to the poor underaged girl in the USA after you're dead? Do you think Thai Family court won't consider your chances of dying?

You know they have English speaking attorneys in Thailand right, along with judges, like the one we already had, that spoke English. There are also translators. I have nothing to worry about. My daughter will be better off in America and she will live there within 2 years.

Was in a Thai court earlier this year, nobody spoke anything but Thai.

At appropriate moments my wife whispered to me, "say yes" and "sign this".

I wasn't bothered by the outcome, so it wasn't a problem for me.

Actually, seeing I've been taking very good care of myself all my life, my chances are very good of reaching 85 or more. I also have family there if that ever happened, her brother and sisters and cousins. She is better off with me period, as her mother is a very unstable person who's past history will bury her, and no judge here doesn't understand the west is a better place for children. There are many children  sent there every year by foreign fathers who live here to better schools. Like I mentioned, an English school owner knows the better choice is the US, and if it ever came to court, which it won't anyway, he would testify to that. he's countrywide known as being a good school owner with a very high success rating.

In my divorce, the judge spoke very good English. There will only be one outcome. I'm seeing you don't understand much about Americans.

Nice heading.

Even though this article is about Spain, with a brief reference to Italy, one could easily say the same in Thailand.

Most non Americans and those who haven’t lived in the USA for an extended period really don’t understand what it is to be an American and America, it’s just easier for them to have presumptions due to lack of knowledge and understanding.

They would be bummed after all the tourists stop coming to their City.

I thought the row was about local properties being removed from the market by  people putting them onto the Air BnB.
I’m sure they had similar protests about a year ago, on the same topic. Nowt to do with big standard Tourists
