I can't find the insurance document for my funky filano 😐

The insurance doesn't run out till November, so I'm ok there, but where do I get a replacement?

 

If you are talking about the mandatory one then don't bother, if it's a private insurance then contact the company

when you did the annual registration,

no one will ever ask for that.

papa usually just bins it.

If you bought other insurance from an independent agent,

contact him.

The only reason I ask is that it's in case I get stopped by the police.

Around these parts, they do pull bikes and scooters. And even chase them if they try to get away.

 

Supposing I do get stopped and I produce the green book, tax disc, and Thai driving license, is that enough these days?

You need a helmet.

as long as you have a tax disc you automatically have the insurance, police know that

I would guess that you will need it in case of an accident. Otherwise how can you know who to contact for third party damages?

The insurance does not cover third party damages.

It covers medical fees up to B50K.

So your guess is wrong.

Ok, anyway you will need a copy of the insurance certificate in case of such an accident.

If you do not have the insurance certificate who will you ask to pay for the mentioned medical expenses? You have to contact the insurance in such a case. At least this is what I assume. If you know more about the procedures please enlighten us. It would be interesting to know the details.

Hospital bills the govt mandated insurance program.

Happens many, many times

every day.

You can have valid tax with expired insurance, granted most.people.do both at the same time but not everyone, I have one bike where the tax is valid tiil August but insurance expires June

No trick and not intentional, just the way it worked when I bought the bike..

Friend of mine in Chiang Mai was involved in a motorbike accident, went to Government hospital, bike was transferred to his home, after treatment was presented with a bill, didn't have the insurance document with him, was told would have to pay then claim back from Compulsory Government insurance, fortunately a mate came to the hospital with the certificate
