Hi everyone, thank you so much for all your replies and advice so far — we really appreciate it! 🙏

Just to clarify our situation a bit more:

- We were in Thailand on a one-year ED visa, which expired recently.

- We left Thailand on time to avoid overstaying and we had the brilliant idea to fly to Vietnam without any agent or similar, planning to re-enter on a visa exemption, as we are from  EU and have done that before without any issues (we did that before we had a one-year ED visa track record in our passport, so that’s probably one reason we got investigated).

- Unfortunately, when we landed at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi a few days ago, immigration denied us entry and sent us back to Vietnam. They told us we must apply for a Tourist E-Visa instead of using the exemption.

Now we’re in Vietnam and want to return because we still have personal belongings there.
After being denied once, we really can’t risk being refused again — it’s stressful and expensive.

We contacted several agents for help.
One agent (not FTV) told us that we have been flagged in the immigration system under sections 2, 3, and 9 — but they didn’t explain what those mean, saying it’s “only for immigration use,” so we honestly have no idea what that implies.

Friendly Thai Visa (FTV) offered us their “Safe Entry” airport service for 8K THB per person. They said someone will wait for us at BKK airport, escort us directly to an immigration officer, and we’ll get a new 60-day Tourist Visa stamp with no questions asked, all done in about 5 minutes.
We have seen many different prices posted online for the same service, so we asked about that too. FTV explained to us:

“Price depends on customer case — we have some 4500, 5000, 7000, 8000, 13,000. Variety price that ask from team so your case officer mentioned too seriously than normal so need to pay many parties. We cannot tell much more details.”

So far, we haven’t found any clear, recent feedback about this exact service, so we are hoping to hear from real people who used it at BKK airport:

  • Did it work exactly as described?

  • Were you asked anything by immigration or needed to show cash, bank statements, or an exit ticket?

  • Did you have any problems traveling domestically or internationally afterwards?

We are trying to be very careful because we can’t afford to be bounced again.

Any genuine feedback, tips, or warnings would mean a lot to us — thank you so much for helping us decide what to do next! 🙏

My Philippine GF came back on this service after a 1 year ED visa. Got tourist visa no problem and then applied again for further 1 year ED visa.

Funny that IOs that want to deny you entry never ask you about the cash/cards you have with you...

Yes, if they don't actually see the 20k baht (don't ask to see it, or look away if it's waved under their noses), then it didn't exist, therefore you didn't have it, therefore you are denied entry. Simples.

It is fundamentally the same principle that applies to a local on a scooter when they shoot out of a side-street without looking. If they looked first and see another vehicle approaching, they would be required to stop. However, the driver of the oncoming vehicle can't avoid seeing the scooter in front of them and, having seen it, must give way. Simples.

There was a time many got denied entry for "insufficient funds" even after proffering wads of cash. Or are those just FB tales?

Step 1 done — quick update as promised:
In Phú Quốc, all the self-check-in kiosks were out of order, so everyone had to check in at the counter. At the counter, the staff asked us how long we plan to stay in Thailand — we said 1 month (little goosebumps moment 😅) but it was fine and they handed us our boarding passes.
We then went through departure immigration, got our passports stamped out, did the metal detector and regular security checks, and now we’re at the gate waiting for the plane.

Next step: Bangkok and a smooth entry 🤞
I’ll keep you all posted once we’re on the plane and when we land in BKK — stay tuned!

Airline did not request onward flight?

Anyway your home free now.

You will have no issues at BKK

Yeah, no questions about onward tickets — only one question about how long we wanted to stay in Thailand.
Step 2 done: we’re now boarded and on the plane. In an hour and a half, we’ll be in BKK!

Wish us good luck 🍀

I was almost denied entry three times in a row (in late 2019/early 2020, different entry points), incl. one time when I was only on a stopover from Vietnam to Malaysia (had to travel from one Bangkok airport to the other)... Not once was I asked about 'funds'; cash, or otherwise, of which I actually had plenty on me.

I have used this service for friends 3 times since March. Pretty much the same situation for my GF as OP. ED visa finished. She was denied entry on return (Dec 8). Waited 3 months, came back using FTV service worked a charm. Next I arranged for a friend of hers, worked perfectly. GF returned to her country on May 24, returned 3 days ago, on June 17, using FTV. Cleared in 2 minutes. No questions, no cash, no hotel, no exit ticket. Can't recommend highly enough.

That's exactly what they're afraid of. They would feel embarrassed if they ask someone for funds who can actually show them.

Sorry to "steal" this topic but I have a similar question...

I'm currently in Cambodia and plan to go back to Finland next month, I have a paid ticket from Bangkok but I was thinking to stay in Bkk two days before my flight. I had a non-O visa which ended 2024/10 after that I had 60+30 days visa exempt+extension till end of January.

Will I face problems at Don Mueang? Or am I just getting paranoid?

As you've stayed outside of Thailand since the end of January and as you'll have a ticket to your home country for two days after your arrival to show them if questioned, I really don't think you have anything to worry about.

Many such cases reported here, as well as on FB.  The timeline was:

1) They started asking to see the money (cash or traveler's checks only) or denied-entry for repeat-tourists.

2) Word got out, so we started carrying the cash.

3) Angry that we could easily comply with the cash requirement, they started the routine of not asking to see the money - waiving it away if it was shown - saying they were denying entry for "here too much / long" - then stamping "didn't have the money" in the passport, as the "official" reason for denying entry.
4) Various workaround options then appeared - "VIP entry," "send cash to so and so via Line," etc - eventually streamlined into the current "safe entry" system.

Bottom line, they do not have the right to deny entry for "here too much / long," under Thai immigration law - but there is no honest oversight of the law in Thailand to stop Immigration's corruption-schemes.

Hi everyone,

I’d like to ask for some feedback or experiences regarding Friendly Thai Visa Services.
FB: https://www.facebook.com/people/Friendly-Thai-Visa-Services/61552069237778/

Here’s our situation:
My partner and I were studying in Thailand on an ED visa, which has now expired.
We left Thailand and tried to re-enter on a visa exemption but were denied entry at Bangkok Suv airport. Immigration told us to apply for an e-visa instead.

While researching solutions, we came across Friendly Thai Visa Safe Services.
We contacted them via Facebook and WhatsApp.
They offered us a “safe entry” airport service for 8K THB per person.

How they described it:

  • We book a flight to BKK Suvarnabhumi at specific arrival times they suggest.

  • Upon arrival, someone will be waiting to escort us directly to an immigration officer, skipping the normal queue.

  • The officer will stamp a new 60-day Tourist Visa into our passports “without any questions asked”.

  • The whole process is supposed to take about 5 minutes, and then we are free to go.

They guaranteed us that there would be no problems or questions at immigration, and that the passport stamp is official and valid for domestic and international flights afterwards.

We want to know:

  • Has anyone here actually used this specific airport service with Friendly Thai Visa?

  • Did it work exactly as promised?

  • Were you asked anything by immigration or did they check any documents or cash?

  • Did you have any problems afterwards with airlines or at exit immigration?

We are quite stressed and want to make sure this is truly legit before committing to it, as 8K THB per person is not a small amount for us.

Any real feedback, tips, or warnings would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you so much in advance for sharing your experiences.

I used their entry service a couple of times. Flawless. 5 minutes out indeed, no questions asked. DM me if you want more info

Well that's the thing, they want their cut of what you spend, so if you want to stay "too long" on visa exempts, that's fine as long as you pay them off via a border bounce or airport safe entry service.

If they didn't deny entry to those who think they can get unlimited entries for free...

No truth to that at all.  On the 18th, I was denied a 5 year Thailand Privilege "Formally Elite" visa at Suvarnabhumi.  I had 3 Thailand Privilege staff with me to inquire the reason.  The only reason given was "I traveled to Vietnam for 2 days and that looks suspicious.

I paid 1,000,000 baht in 2019 for the 20 year Visa option.  If 1 million baht and 3 Thailand Privilege agents were not able to change inmigrations decision, I highly doubt a 8K baht service has more power/influence.

* I was given a 60 visa exempt entry and Thailand Privilege has suggested I go to CW immigration #1 in a month and try to get my 5 year Visa there.  Point of my post is, paying an agency does you nothing if your flagged in immigrations system.

Why didn't you get your new 5-year visa at Chaeng Watthana in the first place?

You weren't denied entry in any case. The fact that they didn't consider it their job to affix the new visa in your passport after your brief trip to Vietnam proves nothing with regards to visa exempt entries.

One agent (not FTV) told us that we have been flagged in the immigration system under sections 2, 3, and 9 — but they didn’t explain what those mean, saying it’s “only for immigration use,”

(2)  Having no appropriate means of living following entry into the Kingdom.
(3)  Having entered the Kingdom to be employed as an unskilled or untrained labourer, or to work in violation of the Alien Work Permit Law.

(9)  Having no money or bond as prescribed by the Minister under Section 14 of the Immigration Act B.E. 2522 (1979).

This sounds very likely as you have also stated here that a basic border bounce is expensive and you can afford to be turned down again.  That seems to validate the Immigration officer claim and flag in your profile.  Sounds like you should provide proof of funds in your name in a foreign bank account.  I would not show them your Thai bank account as that kind of show that you are long term resident or intend to stay (that may or may not be true.)  Access to funds in a foreign bank account is good to support your 60 day stay, and cash even better.

It would probably also be a good idea to have a REAL purchased outbound ticket.  Preferrably to your home country, not Vietnam or Cambodia or Laos.  Don't provide one of the fake tickets or ticket to next door neighbor.  Basically immigration is enforcing all the rules when they want to and probably don't just want people hanging out any more with no provable means of support.

Discussed in this thread after several posts.

@thai006 did you use the company mentioned by OP with positive review?

OP where are you currently located?

I used them and it cost me 4.5k

They were Excellent.

Your problem is you have ben denied entry once already and are now flagged up on the system. Hence the 8k.

Why not apply for a DVT for muay thai or medical reasons? It isn't much more money

I see no indication in the OP's posts to suggest the that a DTV would suit him and his partner, ie that they need multiple entries for the next five years with stays of up to 180 days for the reason of either Muay Thai training or medical treatment.

No, they just want a payoff into their own pocket if you come "too long / often" on tourist-entries.  They know you would not have the money for air-tickets / travel or living here at all, if you didn't have the means to support yourself, as there is no welfare here for foreigners.

It's the same reason they let agents "help" people skip the financial-requirements for retirement extensions for an agent-payoff. There is literally no downside for Thailand when people from higher-income / wage countries stay more-often / longer here.

With respect ... IMHO, that's not entirely true.

When large numbers of people from higher-income / wage countries stay in a less wealthy foreign country more-often / longer they  can drive up prices such that locals can not afford local items.  Hence there needs to be a controlled balance.

That's not to say agents don't make a profit and not to say that government officials don't make money ... but rather its to put the overall statement more in perspective.
