The operation followed reports of unusual activity, with a significant number of Chinese nationals residing there, some renting entire floors without any apparent occupation. Suspicion of illegal activities prompted the raid. During the search, officers discovered Chinese nationals playing computer games and others attempting to flee with nearly 200 mobile phones. These items were confiscated for further investigation. Four Chinese nationals were found to have overstayed their visas and were detained, facing charges for exceeding their legal stay in Thailand. Investigations are ongoing to determine if there are further offences related to the seized computers and mobile phones. Adapted by ASEAN Now from Siam Rath 2025-06-21 1 1
