Do u know the difference speaking thai..Laos.. Khmer

Some people say thai and Laos is almost the same.NOT true.Laos is wery different.Khmer is like a totally other planet.I speak thai well..i speak Laos about 30%>>i speak Khmer about 50%> but i understand what they taking about.My exwife from surin and the daily language in the family change everyday from thai to Laos and Khmer.My exfather in law learned me alot.I asked him what this and that means and he told me Actually he was the first who told me my exwife was cheating on me.Some people tell me they speak Laos..i dont believe them.

So i will make an example..so u guys who say u speak thai well and other languages tell me what this means...chan rak tur..hak nong lai lai..bong sarang nieng,.u nai..u sai..noi na....mao rue plaw..sawang yung....mao leaw..sawang hoy..

You are repeating yourself in the three languages you mentioned. Not sure why.

 

Your transiterations are out though. 

 

You do seem to be drunk, as you admitted in your last sentence.

 

You forgot "hi mak mong" to go with chan rak tur, hak nong lai lai and bong salang neang.

I did repeat to shove the difference in the same meaning .The post is to make people know it wery different and not as close the pepole belive..In thai..pai nai..laos pai sai..khmer do na..

My favorite in Khmer when only men listening is i they ask m where i go and i answer DO KANOI TOM TOM..means on my way f..ing a big  pussy...het yung means u yet.. kin kao rue yung in thai..in khmer Si BaI in I had many funny stories in fex in Bangkok when i specially speak Khmer wirh wery nice Khmer people.One rtime they restaurant refused us enrty because their girls was Khmer.i kept calm and asked for the manager/supervisor what happened.After 1 miniute everything went ok and the staff who refused us entry gave us wery good service and good fooh

Indeed useless on ("English style") transcription.

Provide original script and move thread to Thai language.

But "mao laew" (being drunk) should be universal, don't you think.

 

Thai and Laos: script is very similar. Laos and upper Isan people have little problems to communicate. Laos people coming to Nong Khai and Udon Thani for shopping, medical treatment etc and don't need a translator.

But vocabulary of Isan/Laos differs in many fields from Siamese formal language.

Thai and Laos are different languages, as is Khmer, but many are blended together, especially in Isaan and many can understand it. My girlfriend and ex wife are both  from Sisaket province, and both understand a little Laos and Khmer.  I've heard many words used in both languages, like Xari and Jang for what. They belong to the same language family (Tai-Kadai) and are mutually intelligible to a large degree, especially for speakers from the northeastern region of Thailand (Isan) and Laos. Thank u for meaningful reply.I SPEAK.. LAOS and KHMER but never wanted to read or write.In sure u know Khmer is a border language wirh no books or school to learn I.The you young in surin.. buriram and kukhan in sisaket they want to learn Its a language what will be a Memory books

You should learn to read Thai if you can already speak it. You will see how the tones arise and learn new words all the time. Once you have learnt Thai script, you will see that the Laos script is a close derivation/variant. The Khmer script is quite a long leap further but still related.

I speak thai wery well I worked as a translator for thai police.I don't need to read thai at all 

What do u don't understand about the thai/Cambodia border language because its just a border language but u dont to understand that.Inside Cambodia they learn original Cambodia language.DO U GET IT NOW????

It depends on what you mean by "almost the same."

Less than 40% of the Thai population speak Central Thai as a first language.

One would hardly need to be fluent to translate any of that, If you speak these languages so well why could you not find a few more challenging phrases ? those are straight out of a guide book

True that Isaan Lao is not a written language, but most Isaan folk will use Thai script to write Isaan words, since it's easy to show the correct tones etc.

You are confusing Central Cambodian language with Northern Khmer. 

 

Central Cambodian is taught in schools and has script. Northern Khmer is a dialect and spoken only.

Thai verses Lao  think spanish verses Portuguese    Khmer is totally different, no tones for a start

When transliterating Thai to Khmer or vice versa its always an approximation due to the absence of tones in Khmer. No different to transliterating  Thai and English.      Thai and Lao would work much more accurately

My point being, there is no reason Isaan Lao or Khmer speakers would want to use Thai script to write their dialects. They are spoken languages. 

 

If they want to communicate in writing they'll use central Thai as, contrary to some expats opinion, most Isaan folk do speak, read and write Thai.

And it differs depending on where in Thailand they come from Khmer Surin is a bit  different than Khmer Buriram for example, Both differ widely from True official Khmer
