In the early hours of July 15, a troubling incident unfolded near Mae Wilai Market in Pattaya. A 41-year-old bar worker was discovered in a confused and intoxicated state, raising concerns of possible foul play.

The unnamed woman, found slumped on the pavement, appeared severely disoriented. She was unable to remember the events of the night, recalling only that she had been drinking with a "friend" at her place of work. Authorities were promptly alerted, with rescue workers and police arriving at the scene to assist.

Sawang Boriboon Rescue Centre volunteers provided initial medical attention before escorting her to Pattaya City Police Station for her safety.

Witness Natticha Bangkerdphol, 51, described encountering two suspicious men rummaging through the woman's handbag. Natticha, who stepped in to aid the distressed woman, reported, "They claimed to know her but then asked for money. I handed them 20 baht (about 50 pence) to defuse the situation, and they left."

Fearing the woman had been drugged and targeted, Natticha alerted the authorities while ensuring the woman's safety.

CCTV footage revealed two men, aged between 30 and 35 and standing around 160–165cm tall, wearing black t-shirts. The video showed them going through the woman’s belongings before fleeing down an alley, accompanied by a third individual, when confronted by Natticha.

Local police are now poring over the footage, collaborating with investigators to identify and apprehend the suspects involved.

Currently recovering at the police station, the woman will be questioned once she’s fully alert to determine whether her disorientation was due to intoxication or if more sinister factors were at play.

This incident has sparked concern within the community, highlighting the importance of vigilance and safety, particularly for those working in nightlife settings. As the investigation unfolds, locals hope for a swift resolution and heightened security measures in the area.
