A woman’s desperate attempt to reach her unresponsive husband ended in heartbreak early morning on 18 July, when she discovered his lifeless body inside their room in Pattaya.

At approximately 01:05, Lieutenant Sakayaphap Chaidej of Pattaya City Police Station received a report of a death at an unnamed apartment building in the Nong Prue area of Bang Lamung District, Chonburi Province. Officers and rescue personnel from the Sawang Boriboon Foundation were dispatched to the scene.

The body of 52-year-old Mr. Subin, a local motorcycle taxi driver, was found lying stiff and unresponsive on his bed in Room B2 on the second floor of the three-storey building. Authorities estimated that he had been dead for at least three hours.

No signs of forced entry, disturbance or struggle were found in the room. Officers cordoned off the area and restricted access while a visibly distraught woman, identified as the deceased’s 42-year-old wife Ms. Kanchana, gave her statement.

Ms. Kanchana, who works as a cook, told police that her husband often suffered from sleep deprivation due to long working hours. She became worried when she was unable to contact him after 21:00 on the evening, 17 July.

Fearing the worst, she went to the apartment and knocked repeatedly, but there was no response. In a state of growing panic, she climbed the back wall of the building and entered through the rear window. Inside, she was horrified to find her husband unresponsive and cold to the touch.

After regaining composure, she immediately called emergency services.

Police conducted a thorough inspection of the scene and found no initial evidence of foul play. The body has since been transported to the Police General Hospital’s Institute of Forensic Medicine in Bangkok for a full autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.

Authorities have not ruled out natural causes but say the investigation remains ongoing.
