Naive Trump promised peace in Middle East, now he’s realising he’s been played

Featured Replies

Donald Trump’s administration may be having a “realisation” after six months of “naivety” as White House officials privately accused the Israeli Prime Minister of acting like a “madman”, experts believe.

Benjamin Netanyahu’s airstrikes on Syria appear to be exasperating the White House, leading US diplomats to warn Israel against their military intervention in the country.

Israeli jets last week bombed a convoy of Syrian Government tanks before Netanyahu appeared to escalate strikes further with attacks on the Ministry of Defence in Damascus, according to reports.

“Bibi acted like a madman. He bombs everything all the time,” one White House official told Axios, using Netanyahu’s nickname.

The US supports the new government in Syria and is apparently furious with Netanyahu's intervention, but as in Putin's case , Trump doesn't do anything, doesn't listen to intelligence; so Netanyahu and Putin ignore Rubio and Witkoff, only focussing on Trump who they know is afraid to force any issue because his base supports Israel, and even Russia to some extent.
