Middle East US and Israel Pull Negotiators Amid Gaza Ceasefire Deadlock

In a dramatic turn, the US has recalled its negotiating team from Doha, casting doubt on a Gaza ceasefire. US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff slammed Hamas' latest response, indicating it shows "a lack of desire to reach a ceasefire."

 

Witkoff expressed the US's shift to explore alternative strategies to secure the release of hostages and stabilise conditions in Gaza. This decisive move clouds earlier optimism about reaching a truce, leaving diplomatic efforts in question.

 

Despite recent hopes spurred by Hamas' proposal, Witkoff emphasised that their actions seem uncoordinated and insincere. The US remains committed to seeking a conflict resolution, but patience appears to be wearing thin.

 

Simultaneously, Israel has pulled their team from Qatar, though officials deny it signals a negotiation crisis. According to Israeli sources, in-person decisions are needed, driving their team’s return.

 

Another official described Hamas' response as "positive" and acknowledged narrowing gaps in negotiations. Yet, this optimism faces a hard reality as international patience is tested.

 

The withdrawal of both teams places future diplomatic manoeuvres on unstable ground. The world watches closely as tensions persist and pathways to peace become more elusive.

The solution to this problem is simple:
- Hamas agrees to release ALL the hostages, including any that have been killed by the IDF bombings.
- Israel agrees to a ceasefire, withdrawal of all troops, and an agreement to a two-party solution with a division of the country based on the original 1947 UN plan.

Agree, except that Hamas also has to leave the country. How the hell can they be allowed to remain in Gaza, unless everyone in Gaza is in Hamas. In which case they should have surrendered 50,000 deaths ago.

But  they are not all Hamas, just the dominant Jihadist mongrels who have the guns. Fine they have to leave. Would make it easier for the PA to evolve and attract regional investment to rebuild. Otherwise tougher tents.

Unfortunately don't think the Palestinians will accept the 1947 Plan. They rejected it then, and ever since have never missed an opportunity to miss an opportunity.

Also Netanyahu and his far right pals have to go. He probably was the man for the war, but we need Israeli Moderates to be leading the country, whatever transpires, when some sort of peace is achieved.

If the terrorists, Hamas, gave a hoot about their fellow muslims suffering, they would release all hostages and lay down arms. But they refuse so Israel keeps bombing and Aljazeera is there filming the worst parts to garner world pity from the gullible.  And you don't negotiate with terrorists, ever.
