At least 63 people were killed across Gaza by Israeli military strikes just hours after Israel announced daily “pauses” in operations to allow humanitarian aid to enter the territory, according to local health officials.

The Israeli military stated on Sunday that it would suspend operations daily from 10am to 8pm in parts of central and northern Gaza, including al-Mawasi, Deir el-Balah, and Gaza City. It also announced that aid corridors would be open from 6am to 11pm to facilitate the entry of food and medical supplies.

Despite the announcement, airstrikes resumed within hours. Al Jazeera reported that one strike targeted a bakery in a designated “safe zone.”

The humanitarian crisis in Gaza continues to worsen. Health officials reported six additional deaths from starvation in the last 24 hours, including two children, bringing the total number of starvation-related deaths to 133. Among the dead was five-month-old Zainab Abu Haleeb, who died of malnutrition at Nasser Hospital. Her mother told Al Jazeera, “Three months inside the hospital and this is what I get in return, that she is dead.”

The World Food Programme stated that one in three people in Gaza had gone days without food, and about half a million are facing famine-like conditions. The World Health Organization reports that more than 20% of pregnant and breastfeeding women in Gaza are malnourished.

Israel maintains that it is working to improve aid access and denies that famine exists in Gaza. Aid organisations, however, say the situation is catastrophic, with a quarter of the population at risk of acute malnutrition. UN officials warn that the crisis will not ease unless Israel accelerates the passage of aid through its checkpoints.

Philippe Lazzarini, head of the UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA), described the condition of Palestinians as “walking corpses,” noting that humanitarian workers were encountering children who were “emaciated, weak, and at high risk of dying” without immediate help. “Families are no longer coping,” he said. “They’re breaking down, unable to survive. Their existence is threatened.”

Israel severely limited humanitarian access earlier this year, enforcing an 11-week total blockade. While some aid is now allowed, the current level remains inadequate, according to the UN.

On Sunday, the Israeli military intercepted an aid ship headed for Gaza. The Freedom Flotilla Coalition, which organised the delivery, said 21 international activists and journalists were detained and the cargo—containing baby formula, food, and medicine—was confiscated. The group said Israeli forces intercepted their vessel, Handala, about 40 nautical miles off Gaza's coast, cutting off communications shortly before midnight on Saturday. It was the second aid ship stopped by Israel in recent months.

Jordan and the UAE have begun airdropping aid into Gaza, but Lazzarini said such efforts are insufficient. “Airdrops will not reverse the deepening starvation,” he said on X. “They are expensive, inefficient and can even kill starving civilians. It is a distraction and smokescreen. A manmade hunger can only be addressed by political will. Lift the siege, open the gates and guarantee safe movements with dignified access to people in need.”

Since the war began in October 2023, following a Hamas attack that killed nearly 1,200 Israelis and resulted in 251 hostages, Israeli military operations have killed nearly 60,000 Palestinians, injured over 144,000, and displaced the majority of Gaza’s 2.2 million residents. The territory has been left in ruins, with widespread hunger and homelessness.

What should happen to Jews ?

Israeli jews? Given the choice to live in Palestine or emigrate to a Western country, funded by the sale of all IDF military hardware, the ones guilty for orchestrating war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide charged as such by the ICJ, the ones posting vile hate speech online such as supporting the mass murder of infants see their day in court in their home nation if applicable. 🙂

Please , can you stop going on about children all the time ?

Palestinian supporters always seem to go on about children all the time.

What should happen to non Israeli Jews ?

Should they just be "ashamed" of themselves or should there be further consequences ?

Why wasn't the baby breast fed ?

Babies should only be breast feeding at that age

OMG, can you read that the mother had no breast milk since she was malnourished as well

There would be other mothers with breast milk.

Why didn't another woman breast feed the baby ?

They should try to implement the accords about a Palestinian state and live in peace and don't reply about Oct 11 before that they were invading Palestinian Gaza and East Bank and killing people there without trial or due process

Do they think they are making friends and influencing people at the moment - all they are doing is creating a generation of people who hate them.

I do believe that you missed the point .

I guess you missed the part about 95% of the housing units being destroyed by the IDF.  And it's virtually impossible to get enough food or medicines to survive.

In what world is that "willingly"?

It would be an incentive for them to move .

Spain , Norway and Ireland should provide new homes for them

Here's a not so novel thought...  Which of the 2 combatant groups have a more similar cultural and educational background that would allow them to fit in well in Spain, Norway and Ireland?  Shouldn't they be the ones who leave?

The side with the better firepower decides who stays and who goes .

The side with the weapons decide that

Sure. The sale of all IDF hardware would go a long way.

No more Israel, happy Jewish citizens and tourists enjoying their time in Palestine. 🙂

And who would be taking that hardware and selling it to whom ?

Would you be selling nuclear weapons on E-bay ?

That's great, as long as they want to be in a perpetual war.  (At least until some crackpot regime gets the bomb)

They've bombed Yemen, Syria, Iran, Lebanon and others just in this flareup of their 80+ year war.  They'll still be fighting enemies they're currently creating, for the next 50-100 years.  Because they're creating new terrorists and enemies faster than they can kill them.  That math just doesn't work.

Payback time, you worthless cretins. Hard to feel sorry for all those Hamas fellow travelers in Gaza. Can't we just expel the whole lot to Jordan or Saudia Arabia, where they can mingle with their own kind -- and let the Jews live unmolested? Oil and water is never going to mix.

So , many Palestinian children will grow up to become terrorists ?

So it would be better to deal with that problem NOW, rather than in the future

So if someone is killing your children and you leave for safety that's "willingly"

How do you propose to do that kill everyone? And of course there are those who already live abroad them too?

Yes, its a straight up choice .

Would you like to stay or would you like to leave .

Its a Yes or No question
