Me too. Woke this morning at 1 minute past 0400 as a low rumble rumbled in the distance. Got out of bed to check the time.  Then woke again around 0615 as some even more distant rumbles rumbled. I find my brain is now highly tuned to even the softest of rumbles..

There are thunderstorms in Thailand currently. Although I suppose after artillery and bombs one get sensitive.

If the ceasefire holds a couple of days I expect people & shops will start to return to normal. Will be nice to visit PTT & Lotus here in Prasat (currently all closed down) instead of having to traipse to Robinson on the outskirts of Muaeng Surin. But I have to do my 90-days tomorrow at Immigration which is almost at Robinson anyway ...

Ha ha, fake news.

Lots of sincerity in that photo. 😂

Don't believe that psycho Cambodia guy.

Quite sad actually, shaking hands with the devil, killing all those innocent Thai's

Yes indeed, shaking hands with the representative of an aggressive land grabbing regime that is killing innocent Khmer people!

Why not stick to the subject !!  Instead of squabbling on here, think of the poor people of both sides that have no time or money to spend on visiting little known temples, and who have been camping out in the open far from their homes, farms and animals for days.

Sadly there are some on here that can't help themselves and will take each and every opportunity to make any thread an anti-Trump thing. Truly pitiful and childlike behaviour.

Oh dear, I hope I didn't offend you.

We've spoke in the past, you are now living in Cambodia from what I remember, I hope you are well.

I'm not hear to make enemies.

I only learn from what I read, what I've been reading is Cambodia is the bad guy in this situation.

From my understanding it was the French doing the land grabbing way back, long time ago

According to China observer (an anti China mouth piece of falun gong funded by CIA), this entire conflict was instigated by CIA and NSA so that they could install a Military dictatorship in Thailand who would stop all China related projects in Thailand. Thailand is military is not listening to Civil leadership.

Okey, another conspiracy theory..... Just like the moon landing.... and flat Earth.

Wake up people! They've been fighting over that bloody temple since the French drew the colonial map 200 years ago.

Since the two PM's agreed to this it should hold. If it doesn't, then it means they're not calling the shots. No other way to look at it. I'd have trouble believing that Cambodia's generals would cross Hun Sen's son. So let's see.

No offence at all - at least we come from countries that are democratic with freedom of speech. I am very well thanks but my old legs are not so stable these day. This coming February 2026 I will have lived in Siem Reap for 6 years, after 20 years in Thailand.  What I find frustrating these days is the amount of fake news regarding this conflict, trying to sort out the wheat from the chaff! Cambodia has today been blocked from accessing the Bangkok Post and The Nation websites by Thai authorities, however there is still access to many others.  Nice to hear from you again. Stay safe and enjoy life - I do!

I hope you are right. My family is in Lamduan and didn't need to evacuate, but there was starting to be concern that they might have to.

Is Route 24 between Prakhon Chai, Prasat, Sangkha, etc. safe at this point? I'm guessing 224 and 214 are not.

Considering the several shots fired by the battery of 155's next to my home a few minutes ago, I have a hard time believing that both sides will honor the ceasefire... Please prove me wrong dear neighbors.

Yes, route 24 is perfectly safe as I just used it an hour ago to return at Phanom Dong Rak. Just fill up your vehicle before stting off as all the gas stations are closed.

Everyone living in Thailand should be thanking Trump. The last US president wouldn't have done a damn thing

I would think it is far more likely that access has been blocked by Cambodian authorities, no?

CIA is not stupid. They will always instigate conflict  based existing conflicts.

I doubt the office at Kap Choeng will open anytime soon.

We avoid that like the plague. We use the office in the Surin Central Admin building near Robinson.

Still 3 hours and change until the guns are meant to go silent.

I am willing to cross my fingers and hope that they remain silent but hearing all my neighbors saying that they don't trust khmer people makes it hard.
