A Laotian man lost his life instantly in a motorcycle collision on a poorly lit section of road on the night of 30 July, prompting renewed calls from local residents for improved safety measures.

The fatal incident occurred at approximately 20:00 on a stretch of road running parallel to the railway line. The Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Rescue Centre in Pattaya received an emergency call reporting a serious collision involving two motorbikes.

Emergency response teams, including medics from a nearby hospital and rescue volunteers, were immediately dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, they discovered that one of the motorcyclists, identified only as a man of Laotian nationality, had sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Residents living near the scene expressed frustration, stating that the stretch of road has long been a danger zone due to the ongoing road works, absence of proper lighting and warning signals. Locals claim the lack of safety infrastructure has led to multiple crashes, in the past and they are once again urging authorities to install adequate lighting and signage before more lives are lost.

Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the crash and will likely examine whether poor visibility contributed to the fatal collision. The identity of the deceased has yet to be publicly released pending notification of next of kin.
