A great place to start would be to see if Trump was capable of either five push-ups or pull-ups. I seriously doubt it.

  • I don't get this kind of comment.  America has an obesity problem and the best time to set people up for a lifetime of better health is at school.   Are you suggesting that kids should not be encourag

No way could he even do a single pull up.

Even 5 sit-ups would be a major challenge for him, with his usual falling asleep inbetween actions constituting a Failure

What a ridiculous generalist post based solely on your blinkered MAGA view of the world!

I didn’t vote for Trump.  And I’ll bet you’re fat too.

Yes it does increase calorie burn during exercise but not sufficient on their own to significantly reduce obesity.

Actually, building muscle does continue to burn energy even after the exercise itself.  An added benefit could be renewed interest in physical fitness which in turn could/would lead to healthier food and lifestyle choices.

You need to work off some of your anger.

Try a push-up or two.

Another asinine post!

Do you have anything constructive to say?

I hope not!

The lefties are having that fit that Trump is trying to improve kids physical fitness.

But he’s not.

Doing so through exercise would require increasing investment in school sports sports.

Testing children’s physical fitness without investing in teach and training fitness is pointless.

Anything to get the little buggers moving around is a good thing, isn't it?

Leftists don’t exercise.

Have you ever seen one on a treadmill or exercise bike?   They are the embodiment of low effort.   They probably think HIIT is an acronym for some “right wing fascist organization”.

As definite leftist I’m so pleased you mentioned HIIT, I hope you don’t mind if I ask a few questions on how you execute your own HIIT, I’m keen to avoid ‘rookie mistakes’.

How do you fit HIIT into your training plan, is it something you do all year round?

How often do you include HIIT in your workouts?

How many HIIT reps., do you do in a HIIT set and how many HIIT sets in a workout?

What times do you allocate to each HIIT effort and rest periods between each HIIT rep.,

What times do you allocate to the periods between each HIIT set?

What time do you allocate to warm up and cool down before and after a HIIT workout?

How do you determine a target work load for your  HIIT efforts?

How do you determine the achieved work load for your HIIT efforts?

How do you determine compliance to the target HIIT workload?

When increasing HIIT workout load do you increase the number of HIIT reps/sets or modify the length of HIIT reps., and/or rest periods?

What training effects does your HIIT target?

How do you measure impact of your HIIT workouts on your target training effects ?

Which of the three energy systems does your HIIT workouts utilize?

Do you take any supplements to enhance your HIIT workouts, and if so which?

Are there any circumstances in which you advise a healthy individual not to engage in HIIT?

Your answers would be greatly appreciated by a lefty who never uses a treadmill or an exercise bike.

Perhaps Trump could lead by example.

Do fifty push ups and fifty sit-ups, and maybe you burn the calories in 3 sips of Coke.

Anyone who thinks that low level of activity is going to make a material difference in weight must be obese.

People wildly over estimate their calorie burn from exercise, often believing they've earned some food cheating just because they did 20 minutes on a Pelaton.

A much better way than lifting weights is dropping the fork.

Strength training exercises can boost metabolism by building muscle tissue. Muscle burns more calories than fat. And unlike fat, muscle burns calories even at rest. This means that the more muscle mass you have, the higher your BMR will be. In fact, total muscle mass along with your genetic makeup are the strongest determinants of BMR.

You seem very unhappy about anything Trump related.

All the way up to and including High School where I grew up, physical education was a priority, available to all who wanted to take advantage of it.. That costs money which the current system is not providing nor willing to cough up. As well, music/arts are important for a well rounded education, and these are all things that have been cut and slashed. Either invest in youth or invest in jails, and guess which the US has placed as its priority? (Hint - it ain't investing in youth)

The mystery is with physical ed, music, and art cut, the remaining subjects seem to show poor performance as well.

Watch an episode of Only Connect on YouTube to see what the UK education system produces.

Maybe Americans have become stupid.

I ABSOLUTELY believe the dumbing down of America has been happening. It started approximately around the time the glorification of stupid was made popular with that insipid show "Jackass," and it's just gotten worse. I was taught the best way to control a nation is to eliminate the middle class, resulting in a ruling class and a subservient class. Make the sub class just smart enough to perform the tasks required to keep the country afloat and siphon the profits upstream to the ruling class. From what my own little eye are telling me, this is happening right effing now.

He would have trouble pulling up his trousers, as for socks - no way.

Interesting questions, if gross.

But does Trump dress himself?

I have seen videos about British kings having royal butt wipers, does Trump have a presidential butt wiper?

That would be an industrial car wash. He's all butt.

Its the mark of many a great leader, I live in hope Trump might rise to this long accepted quality in really great leaders.

Do you really think youngsters give a flying hoot what Trump says or does? I know you don't.

Getting the boys and girls out to play more is a good thing.

Yes, Vance.

Eating less of course help, but exercise also helps...

Weight loss occurs when you burn more calories than you consume. Exercises like pull-ups and push-ups/sit ups increase your energy expenditure, helping create this deficit. For example:

Pull-ups: Burn ~6–10 calories per minute (depending on intensity and body weight).

Push-ups: Burn ~4–7 calories per minute.

These exercises build muscle, which increases your resting metabolic rate (RMR). A higher RMR means you burn more calories even at rest, supporting long-term weight loss.

Combined with a calorie-controlled diet, burning extra calories through exercise promotes fat loss while preserving muscle mass.
