You know it is funny, When I was at school in the 60 there was always a few kids who had a metal brace on their legs. I was told it was because they had polio. You just don't see that any more. How strange that a disease like polio just goes away on its own. There use to be small pox out breaks as well. Where did these diseases go?

I have yet to see advice that says if you have Covid but are vaccinated it is OK to mix with the general population - I am sure many do but I am equally sure it is not recommended because there is a risk of transmission.

I can still remember those poor kids......huge leg irons......what a curse.

 

Oddly enough, I don't know what happened to them, but they never made it to secondary school........hopefully they just went to other schools.

What huge improvement in sanitation occurred between the 1950s and the 1960s? It is 2025 and we are still essentially using the 19th century Bazalgette system. So I don't think that in the UK at least improved sanitation has anything to do with it.

However in some cases the dates of the improvements and the elimination of diseases don't correspond.

What you understand both 'isolation' and 'purification' to be. What I know 'isolation' and 'purification' to be. In fact, what isolation and purification actually means is clear to all.
