Thai dialect

Featured Replies

My son born on koh Samui visited me in Patti's.

13 year old, they asked him if he could speak English, they didn't know Samui accent.

Even on Samui, mainland Thai don't understand.

Samui people don't see themselves as Thai, we are Samui.

He was probably speaking Southern Thai. There are four dialects - Central, Northern, Southern, and Isan (Lao). They can't be understood between them.
