The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) has carried out a crackdown in Chon Buri province, arresting 87 suspects wanted under 110 outstanding warrants for crimes ranging from online fraud to drug trafficking.

The operation, led by the Highway Police Division under the CIB, focused on long-standing cases and cybercrime offences. According to officials, the sweep resulted in:

• 22 suspects arrested for renting out so-called “mule accounts” to call centre scam networks.

• 2 suspects detained on charges of drug trafficking.

• Dozens more apprehended in connection with other outstanding criminal cases.

All those arrested have been handed over to investigators to face legal proceedings.

The crackdown was conducted under the direction of Pol Lt Gen Jiraphop Phuridet, CIB Commissioner, along with Pol Maj Gen Khongkrit Lertsithikul, Commander of the Highway Police, and Pol Col Apichat Rernchanah, Superintendent of Highway Police Subdivision 3.

Authorities said the operation was part of an ongoing campaign to dismantle networks behind online crime and drug distribution in the eastern provinces.

Why don't they have a crack down every week or, as most forces do, every day?
