Expat Food Outlets On The Islands

Featured Replies

Hi,

I’m trying to establish what’s available regarding western food shops on Koh Samui, Koh Phangan and Koh Tao.

I'm interested in the more independent places, so not the obvious large chains like Tesco, Makro, Tops, etc.

So far I’ve found MB Grocery, Bamboo Cafe & Shop, and Bangrak Minimart (Samui), La Bottega Food & Beverage, and Foodology (Koh Phangan), Pen Wholesale Supermarket, and Chaiwat Grocery Store (Koh Tao).

Can anyone add to these places?

I’m also interested in knowing what Phuket has to offer but I guess it makes more sense to start a separate topic for that.

Many thanks for any suggestions.

I often visit BM Grocery (Bangrak Grocery) on Samui - Lamai branch. Wide selection of western food with many frozen goods. Very good selection of sausages, bacon and pies. Also has a wide selection of frozen cooked curries, pasta dishes etc. Also has frozen scones, crumpets and English muffins.

Has lots of tinned goods, bottles of squash etc. Has a cold cuts fridge along with freshly made cakes. Small bread collection so I don't bother with this. There are three French bakeries within walking distance.

I would say that the tinned/packaged goods seem to originate from the UK more than anywhere else.
