In a harrowing tale of survival, a 47-year-old woman from Pattaya narrowly evaded a vicious knife attack after being lured into an abandoned building by a man posing as a Good Samaritan.

The victim, known only as B, shared her terrifying experience of being beaten, stripped, and threatened with rape and murder before managing her escape. The incident occurred around 11:16 p.m. on 30th August in Soi Phra Tamnak 6, an alley infamous for its poor lighting.

B, a local shop worker, was on her way home to check on her foreign husband when a Thai man, estimated to be in his 30s or 40s, called out to her. Claiming that a foreigner needed urgent help, he led her towards the deserted Ruamchok Building 6 where she was ambushed.

As she recounted, “He pressed the knife against my waist and threatened to rape and kill me if I made a sound.” Her ordeal worsened when a phone call prompted the attacker’s violent outburst. Suspecting she was contacting the police, he smashed her head against a wall and cut her clothing away, stealing her phone and 300 baht.

In a daring move, B managed to kick the attacker and flee to her motorbike, escaping the scene in terror. She later reported the assault to Pattaya City Police, who confirmed she sustained bruising, a head injury, and a mouth wound requiring stitches.

The following day, she bravely returned to the site with reporters, revealing the building's derelict state yet showing signs of activity, such as parked motorbikes and evidence of frequent visits by scrap collectors. Despite knocking, no response came from within.

B voiced her fears, “I am very worried this man will attack again. The police must catch him quickly before another woman or tourist is harmed.”

Pattaya police have launched an urgent investigation, seeking information to locate the suspect. This incident has ignited concerns over public safety in the city's poorly lit areas, notorious as crime hotspots.

Residents are calling for improved street lighting and increased police patrols to ensure the safety of locals and tourists alike. As this disturbing case unfolds, it serves as a stark reminder of the dangers lurking in dark and abandoned urban corners.
