The question that needs answering is did Rayner seek and act on lawful professional advice?

If she did your second question is mute.

Actually the two most pertinent questions from the political perspective are:

1.If a leading Tory minister faced exactly the same tax circumstances after acquisition of a second property, would Angela Rayner been among the first to come down on him like a ton of bricks?

2.If a less senior Labour minister than Rayner faced exactly the same tax circumstances, would Starmer have already fired him/her?

Of course everybody - not terminally stupid or dishonest - knows the answer to both questions is an unqualified -  YES

Let's see what the independent ethics advisor comes up with. My hunch is that it will be a mixed picture and Starmer will find a way of keeping her.The prospect of someone of her political talent on the back benches must chill him.

Personally I like Angela - genuine, not up herself and a paid up member of the human race.I also have sympathy with her predicament. It's a complicated case and she may have received poor advice.Still that's not really an excuse for someone in her position, especially someone who has a track record for beating up Tory tax transgressors.

To which I must add:

🟥 Scottish Labour MSP Colin Smyth arrested on August 5, 2025 and charged with possession of indecent images, leading to his suspension from Scottish Labour and the removal of his parliamentary whip. He is now facing a further charge over the alleged hidden camera in the Scottish Parliament toilets.

🟥 In April 2025, Labour MP Dan Norris was arrested by Avon and Somerset Police on suspicion of sexual offences against a girl (under the Sexual Offences Act 1956), rape (under the Sexual Offences Act 2003), child abduction, and misconduct in a public office.

Who has she been so excessively and unreasonably critical of?

The taxpayer for paying her so much she could afford to buy a flat in Hove for £800,000 to start with. It’s all our fault.

Inflated the value of her house to take more cash out of son’s trust….

Lied about receiving tax advice…..

Paid the lower rate of stamp duty despite very clear guidance about trusts for children….

Used a court injunction to avoid disclosure and only came clean when it expired.🤔

Fascinating how team woke are making up endless excuses for Rayners corruption yet had a pious and arrogant stance about lawbreaking when it was about the anti Trump lawfare hoaxes.

Deep hypocrisy in play isn't it.

Let’s show respect and support for this strong woman instead of criticizing her.

She is guilty of tax evasion and she was the housing minister and tried to lie her way out of it . Zero respect for her .

Her reasons for avoiding £40,000 stamp duty sound feeble and claiming that her newly purchased flat in Hove , was her main residence . This hypercritical deputy P.M. must be sacked . Also how has she managed to accrue a personal wealth of £4.75 million . She has the backing of Starmer who also needs to go . Starmers wealth is said to be  in excess of       £10 million . The mind boggles .

Do you have a personal problem ?

And if she does she should repay the tax debt and then continue in office.

Simple as that eh? and everybody can forget about it and live happily ever after?  Truly laughable and more than a little insulting to the electorate

Whilst I suppose your undying loyalty and support for this woman is, in one way, to be commended, it may now be time for you to reconsider your sympathies  bearing in mind that even she accepts there was no other course of action than to resign, in disgrace

Next was an Islamist and supporter of a Palestine which never existed, from Wikipedia on the new muslim Home Secretary:

Mahmood says on her website that she is a passionate supporter of Palestinian rights. In 2014 she took part in a demonstration outside a branch of Sainsbury's in Birmingham city centre. She said "We lay down in the street and we laid down inside Sainsbury's to say we object to them

This is so poetic.

After all her calls for others to resign. All her cries about Tory scum. All her speeches about abiding by the same rules as everyone else.

And the piece de resistance? Replaced by mastermind DEI Lammy 😄.

Could Labour be any more pathetic?

She has a nickname already Angela blamer because she blaming everyone for her having to resighn.  As for Lammy he turned up at the whitehouse in a suit with Trainors on.

I'm surprised she hasn't blamed the Tories yet.

Lammy is a dunce. A village idiot. Any criticism of him will be deemed racist though. Scary to think if Starmer goes he could be PM. That would be a new low for Britain.
