Police in Prachinburi have arrested a man following a fatal stabbing at a temporary shelter in a cattle grazing field in Moo 1, Rob Muang Subdistrict, Mueang District. The incident occurred early on 4 September, according to local authorities.

Officers from Mueang Prachinburi Police Station, together with a medical team from Chaopraya Abhaibhubejhr Hospital, attended the scene. The victim, 62-year-old Mr. Somporn Phromma, was found lying on a raised wooden platform in the shelter, with a deep stab wound to his left abdomen measuring approximately 15–20 cm. Internal organs were exposed, creating a horrific scene.

At the front of the shelter, police also discovered lit incense sticks and offerings, suggesting an attempt to pay respects to the deceased. The perpetrator had initially fled the scene.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspect, a 57-year-old man named Mr. Sukee Chanma, who also works as a cattle herder, had been drinking with the victim before a verbal argument escalated into violence. According to witnesses, the suspect has a prior criminal record, having served time for the murder of his wife nearly ten years ago.

Mr. Pichet Pramod, 44, a fellow cattle herder, said: “When sober, he is generally calm, but after drinking he tends to pick fights. He was drinking with the victim last night and a disagreement led to the stabbing.”

The victim’s sister, Ms. Pin Phromma, 64, said her brother had recently purchased five cows and was planning to move them to his home in the coming days. He was killed before this could happen. Mr. Winai Wonghan, 60, the owner of the herd, reported meeting the suspect about two kilometres from the scene in the morning. The suspect reportedly said, “I fought with him, go and see,” prompting him to alert the authorities.

Police were able to apprehend the suspect less than two hours after the incident, approximately 10 kilometres from the scene, at another temporary shelter. The suspect appeared intoxicated and disoriented and a sharp knife was found concealed in his bag. He was taken into custody and participated in a reconstruction.

Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the stabbing.

And he was already released from the previous murder ?

That's amazing.
