His Wife Called Charlie Kirk a ‘Nazi.’ He Was Fired.

Featured Replies

An angry right wing has emerged to ensure that such people pay, kicking off a wave of firings and suspensions that have affected journalists, Secret Service agents, and university employees.

One of those people is named Matthew Readling. He is the manager of a Texas Roadhouse in Milton, Florida, a small city in the state’s deep-red Panhandle. But unlike most of the others who have lost their jobs in the wake of Kirk’s assassination, Readling doesn’t appear to have said anything about Charlie Kirk at all.

Apparently, you also believe in reap what your spouse sows.

You know who would have disagreed with you? I'll give you a hint. His initials are C.K.

That might be funny, if it were true. Anyway, your claim that Matthew Reading should reap what he sows, still makes no sense.

If nothing else, CKs death proves that all this identity politics bull<deleted> is dangeous to everyone on both sides.

I really disagree with pretty much everything kirk stands for, except the fact that he was willing to engage in debate.

this only exposes how deep the rifts have grown and simliar the radicalized polar opposites are.

Ah, addicted in bangrak,

Alan, when you're done with Matthew you can help these people find new jobs as well:

No, Alan, he can't disagree, because a leftist ANTIFA furry LGBT trans-adorer shot him dead. Do you not understand what this means?

It means that the nice attempts to engage with the left with words have failed. Now, for insolent provocation, stupidity, hateful attention seeking the left will get what it really deserves.

He did not really debate. He used the questions as a means of delivering his well rehearsed position statements. His public events were structured much along the lines of a US  game show, where contestants were used to set up the judges. The people asking questions at the Kirk events were often screened. It's like American idol auditions or Britain's Got talent where stupid or untalented people are often presented. This allows the judge/star to shine with "brilliant" statements or funny comments.

The Kirk videos were edited to remove people who were not good foils. Kirk was a master of this format. He controlled the agenda and he controlled the audience. His events were a master class for anyone doing  public dialogue or "town halls". He had his answers rehearsed  and he knew how to lead and to entrap his questioners so that they would set up his replies. He was one of the best.

A Kirk event wasn't so much a political event as it was entertainment for  conservative minded people who were given an opportunity to control the agenda and to ensure that their views triumphed. It was the ultimate happy outcome for them, where their views were safe and opposing views could safely be ridiculed and dismissed. And throughout it all, Kirk could play the nice guy allowing stupid or arrogant people to skewer themselves. That was his strength. Successful lawyers, politicians and developers have similar skills.

What did these people expect? If you start a war and lose, brace yourself for the 'savage peace'.

This article says she was an owner of the restaurant and refers to him as an owner/operator too.  Likely husband/wife co-owners.

'These comments, which were attributed to an owner of Texas Roadhouse in Milton, do not reflect the view of Texas Roadhouse,' the company said.

'After an investigation, the managing partner of this location is no longer employed by our company. We hope to see you again soon.

We have Charlie Kirk on the record repeatedly rejecting the notion that speech should be punished. Are you engaged in some kind of magical thinking. Do you believe that when someone dies, all records of what they said and wrote just vanish?

And does the murder of a Minnesota politician and her husband, among many other acts of violence by right wing lunatics mean that nice attempts at engaging with the right have failed?

Yes, Charlie Kirk tried to engage with the left in the arena of dialectic verbal engagement. However, his approach has failed, he received a bullet in return for his attempts to engage with the left verbally.

Are you engaged in some magical thinking where this somehow does not matter or has no consequences? Do you believe that the ANTIFA/LGBT  left can just murder, kill and assasinate people yet still retain the right to peaceful verbal engagement?

How, Alan, are we to talk with people who deny reality? Who believe that a man can put on a wig and say he is a woman? Who, when you disagree with their denial of reality shoot you dead in front of your children and wife?

And then dance on your grave, mock you in death and spit on your memory?

How, Alan, are we to talk to people like this?

And it might be useful to point out to you that the Supreme Court has ruled definitely that speech, no matter how vile, is protected by the Constitution. You might want to look up the Westboro Baptist decision in which the Supreme Court decided that even blatantly hateful speech is protected by the Constitution.

First off, it looks like "managing partner" is just a corporate HR way of saying manager. If he was an owner, how could he be fired from his job? But even if your take is correct, what is your point? That being a spouse wouldn't justify him, but being his wife's partner would?

So the Left cowardly kills a political opponent who was engaging with them, and then claims "protected speech" when they spew the most hateful, vile and targeted mockery of the man they killed.

How absolutely disgusting the Left is, really, but you are completely wrong of course if you think there is some sort of absolute free speech. There isn't, and free speech has been curtailed many times.

Be ready for the hateful, vile and disgusting comments of ANTIFA and leftist people mocking Charlie's death, being punished.

My niece who is a professor of political science in the US tells me that there is alot of doxxing going on with people who are simply stating the truth about Kirk, and quoting his actual quotes not taken out of context.

There's a revisionist historical process taking place right now, where people are trying to erase his history and elevate him to the level of sainthood, which is fairly disgusting considering what a creep the guy was and how nasty and inflammatory his statements were.

That was for reasons of public health. You don't have the right to endanger the health of others. There were actually doctors and nurses who felt that they had a right to refuse to be vaccinated.

On matters of public interest, the Supreme Court has ruled that the right to free speech is absolute.

And Charlie  Cook was also an absolute defender of the 2nd Amendment even though he acknowledged that some deaths would occur because of it. In other words, taking the rough with the smooth was worth the price.

No, it hasn't. You need to read the judgement more carefully.

I read it. It specifically ruled that on matters of public interest, there should be no restrictions on the right to free speech.

In the case I mentioned Christian fanatics at his funeral were loudly accusing a dead soldier of being gay. The Supreme Court ruled that was protected. If it is protected in such a case, why wouldn't insults directed at Charlie Kirk not be?

No, you didn't. You read a quote on some leftist university website, but quite clearly you did not read the full judgement. If you had, you would know the right to free speech is not absolute.
