It very much depends on your pre-existing conditions, which ones and how many. Depending on that insurers might not even insure you at all.

No, that's not right fortunately

  • It’s very hard if not impossible to get any pre conditions removed from your policy. I had high BP then after a losing weight it stabilized and I no longer have any issues or need meds. They say after

  • I know several persons who were rejected by insurers because of pr-existing conditions.

  • I tried many times, but nobody wants to cover pre-conditions in Thailand!

I know more people who are happy with their insurer, even with preconditions

As mentioned previously it depends on what kind of pre-existing conditions the applicant has and how many. Insurers have a point system, too many points of critical things in view of the insurer can lead to a rejection.

That's all theory what you post.

Better to ask different insurer. Do YOU have these lots of preconditions? Were YOU rejected?

Just think about someone who has issues  with cancer or other serious issues. There are conditions which will lead to insurers rejecting to issue insurance policies.

If you are so sure may I ask if you are an insurance broker that knows all conditions and options?

Neither not. But I'm able to contact different insurance companies and ask questions

OK, to ask questions and to apply for insurance with medical records are not the same. The medical departments of insurers make the final decisions. And yes, there are cases who get rejected in this final and important step even if the first questions with insurance staff were positive.

CIGNA Global, may end up on a list of approved foreign companies.  It depends how the OIC handle the changes. WHO knows!

Who knows? Based on the prior draft, for OIC to make changes to allow non-licensed ex-Thai insurers to offer policies through Thai based brokers, it would first require an amendment to the Non-Life Insurance Act 1992.

Sorry, but are you not able to start quotations with around 10 different insurers up to the final decision???? And then take your pick ????

Easy as that.

As mentioned, for serious pre existing conditions and several of them you will be rejected by all 10 insurers. It is a fact you do not consider and realize. It es not easy as that.

Note that any proposed modification to the Non-Life Insurance Act 1992 -- as was proposed by OIC -- would have to go through a round of public comment which may be one of the reasons that the provision to allow non-licensed ex-Thai insurers to offer policies through licensed Thai brokers went nowhere.

We discussed how to stop the revenue stream to my favorite fly-by-nighter.

Great -- so when OIC publishes the draft proposal for the Let's get the Fly-by-Nighter Act of 2026 (?), please let us know when are to be scheduled the public hearings.

I remember a few years back there was a letter written to some UK officialdom about a company with registration in UK and there was a reply letter saying among other things that it was a scam.

To which some UKers wrote the letter was a hoax in that no official in UK would ever write a letter like that.

And the whole topic was taken down.

So, things like that have happened before including a phony topic that a particular company through their claim processor would no longer issue letters of guarantee.

BTW this is the OIC building in Bangkok -- I'll guess it has a very nice lobby.
