Denture repair.

Featured Replies

My denture plate has developed a crack. Has anyone used an over-the-counter repair kit and where to buy one in the Sattahip area?

You will be better off visiting a specialist, a denturologist who makes the repairs. It needs an epoxy or resin that is sometimes light or heat cured. I believe they sand the surface down to prevent irritation of the mouth.  Ask your dentist  for a recommendation. If it is cracked, then it is time for a relining or a replacement.

Going on from my dental repair topic. I couldn't buy a repair kit here. My wife went to various Dental clinics and was quoted in the region of Bt 12,000, and I would have to appear in person. At pushing 92, I wanted to avoid that. She then found a local dentist. After explaining the problem to him. He took a photo of it and got on the phone and showed the picture to someone. Then said "Come back tomorrow at 5pm. Bt800." Job done perfectly. It just shows what a Thai wife with a bit of clout can do. If I had tried to get that service, I have no doubt I would have been taken to the cleaners. T.I.T I love it.

My dentures also cracked at one point, and I managed to repair them with epoxy, but it depends on where the crack is. It's sufficient as a temporary repair, but I did have to buy new ones later on.
