Trump Predicts Gaza Hostage Release on Monday or Tuesday

US President Donald Trump has announced the expected release of hostages held by Hamas in Gaza early this week, possibly Monday or Tuesday. This development follows a deal aimed at peace in the region, and Trump expressed his ambition to attend a signing ceremony in Egypt, as well as address the Israeli Knesset. Trump believes the release could mark the beginning of a lasting peace process.

The announcement came during a White House cabinet meeting, as Trump discussed the agreement made on Wednesday for the hostages' release. This arrangement is part of a more extensive plan for Gaza's reconstruction, although details were sparse. Trump emphasised the goal: to make the region habitable again, suggesting a vision for significant redevelopment in the Palestinian enclave..

The plan indicates that hostages will be freed 72 hours after a ceasefire begins, with 20 living individuals expected to be released together. While Trump described the forthcoming release as a day of joy, he acknowledged the challenge in recovering the remains of hostages who died in captivity. Some remains may be difficult to locate immediately.

Trump also expressed his intentions to visit Egypt for the signing ceremony, with the White House working swiftly to arrange travel logistics. He has been invited by the Israeli Knesset to speak, an opportunity he plans to accept if officially requested. While the long-term impact of the deal on the region remains uncertain, Trump is hopeful it will pave the way for enduring peace.

Key Takeaways

  • Hostages held in Gaza are expected to be released early this week.
  • Trump plans to attend a signing ceremony in Egypt and address the Knesset.
  • The release is part of a broader Gaza reconstruction and peace initiative.

We will see, hamas are notorious for reneging. The only sure way for peace for that area is to completely eradicate hamas, 100%.

First it was Friday, then Monday, and now another day later?
Let's hope that ends well.
With Hamas, you can never be sure, especially when it comes to your life.

Given the thumbs down on some of the comments, there are apparently still people who hold Hamas in high regard, which is strange, very strange....for me.

They tried to contact the Hamas leadership, but none of them would pick up their phones and answer the calls

Hmmm, his promises/claims seem a little, um, shakey. 🧐

Here's a brief list if things that the boss said he would do on "day 1" or by a specific date:

Repeal and replace ObamaCare on day one as a campaign promise... result, we're still waiting. He seems very keen on the repeal aspect though.

The Promise (and Date Due): End the war in Ukraine ("in 24 hours" / "on Day 1") The Reality (So Far): The war continues, requiring more than one coffee break to solve.
Summary: The cease-fire is running late.

The Promise (and Date Due): Launch the largest deportation program ("on Day 1") The Reality (So Far): No mass deportations were seen on Day 1.
Summary: The bus for the "largest deportation" broke down.

The Promise (and Date Due): End birthright citizenship ("on Day 1") The Reality (So Far): Remains protected by the 14th Amendment (so far).
Summary: Constitutional amendments are surprisingly stubborn.

The Promise (and Date Due): Lower grocery prices dramatically and fast ("on Day 1") The Reality (So Far): Prices remain a tough, complicated problem.
Summary: The economy didn't read the memo.

The Promise (and Date Due): Impose a 25% tariff on Canada and Mexico (by a specific early date, e.g., Feb. 1) The Reality (So Far): The tariff wasn't immediately implemented by the deadline.  Summary: Turns out trade agreements are more complex than a fast-food order.

No, I predict it will be the lying Israelis who will reneg this time. They will wait until Hamas returns all the hostages they have, then they will accuse Hamas of not returning all of them, and then they will continue their relentless genocide of the Palestinian people. That was their plan all along. 😠

When have Israel previously renegaded on agreements or promises ?

If they get out succsessfully will you give Trump some credit, I know if they don't you will be bashing the hell out of him. Just saying

Sincerely hope all this works out. However am thinking of all the potential terrorists in the future, whose fathers, mothers, sons,

Daughters, etc, have been killed in Gaza.

They have reneeged on every agreement they've made in the past with the Palestinians. That's how, over the past 70 years, they've been able to take all the Palestinian land they now have. I'm not saying the Palestinians have always lived up to their promises either, but each side vehemently believes that ALL of Palestine should belong to them. This episode will be no exception. Just wait. The hostages were the only things keeping Israel from completely decimating Gaza and removing all Palestinians from the West Bank. As I predicted earlier, as soon as the hostages are released, Israel will continue their destruction of Gaza.

Could you name some of the recent agreements that Israel has renegaded on ?

"Israel and Hamas signed at least six ceasefire agreements in 2008, 2012, 2014, 2019 and 2021. Each case followed a similar trajectory. Hamas, by and large, observed the agreement. Israel, by and large, did not. Eventually, Israeli violence elicited Hamas rocket attacks, which elicited an Israeli campaign of aggression in Gaza, which resulted in another ceasefire, and then the pattern repeated itself. This is a brief history of ceasefire talks between Israel and Hamas, from 2008 to the present." A History of Ceasefire Talks between Israel and Hamas, 2008-Present — Palestine Nexus https://palestinenexus.com/articles/a-history-of-ceasefire-talks-between-israel-and-hamas

"The Israeli version is that hundreds of Palestinians threw stones and firebombs on the arrival of the Israeli police. The Palestinian version is that the violence erupted only when the police entered the compound"

Everything I know about any topic in the news is from seeing it on TV (usually CNN) or reading about it on the Internet. I Googled "recent agreements that Israel has not kept." The site I listed above was one of those presented. I copied a couple of sentences out of the first paragraph. I could rephrase that with my own words, but what good would that do?

My general belief from all I've read is what I said before. Both Palestine and Israel believe they should have ALL the land in this area. Neither of them seems to be willing to accept a two-state solution, so they are constantly at war with each other. Any ceasefires or agreements reached are soon violated by one or the other because the only solution they will accept is for one or the other of them to be completely driven out.

I predict this ceasefire and prisoner exchange will only be a pause in this current conflict. 😞

Well, both those accounts sound the same to me. Why were the Palestinians in a "compound," and why did the Israeli police show up? That sounds a lot like what's happening in the USA (my home country) right now. The National Guard and even the regular military are being sent to cities to "assure the peace." Actually, they're doing just the opposite.

So, when you stated that Israel had renegaded on every agreement previously , you had no idea what you were talking about and you just did  google search and posted up the results ,

You actually had no idea what you were talking about when you posted the claim .

No, I did have an idea. I'd heard and read about Israel reneging on agreements before. In fact, I heard that alleged today on CNN. I didn't know the specifics, so I searched for them online and posted them here for you to read. Isn't that what you and everyone else do?

So, what agreements did CNN say Israel had broken ?

I think CNN said something to the effect that if this agreement goes the same way as the other agreements between Israel and Palestine, we shouldn't get our hopes up. As I've said before, I don't know the details of each of the agreements that have been made between the Palestinians and the Israelis. Those details are not interesting to me. I only care about the generalities of how the Israelis and Palestinians have had conflicts with each other for the past 70 years and how the agreements between them have continually collapsed. If you want details, Google for them or go to the link I provided you above.

Again, I predict that in three or four days, Israel will say Palestine hasn't kept their end of the agreement because they were unable to return one or two dead hostages, and Israel will then continue their military actions. That's MY prediction, not CNN's.

And you will claim that Israel were lying and that all the hostages had been returned ?

By your own admission you claim Israel is currently lying, you said Mossad will hunt down and kill the Hamas members.

When did Israel state that they wouldn't hunt down the Hamas members ?
