visa run to kuala lumpur

Featured Replies

Hi,do i need to stay at least 1 night at kuala lumpur for a visa run from thailand or i can do a round trip the same day by plane, thank

You can do a return trip same day.  There's not really any difference between same day, next day, or even up to a week.  Immigration knows you're just doing a border bounce to obtain a new stamp.

Depending on how long you've been in Thailand previously, and if you received extensions to your entry, you might encounter issues upon returning.  Currently it's not uncommon to be pulled out of line and questioned if you spend 60 days visa exempt + 30 day extension in Thailand, and then left and returned immediately.  Doing this twice greatly increases the odds of being denied entry upon returning the 3rd time.

Certainly not over the top history.

You should be fine however don't really follow the same day turn around.

No thought of mini holiday somewhere?

Is your passport visa exempt for Vietnam.

Saigon airport is handy to District 1.

Edit: I just notice username. So location Phuket?

With Cambodian land borders closed even more reason to fly to saigon given in Pattaya.

Or fly to Udon Thani and do land border bounce.

Same day air bouce ridiculous

The drive from Udon to Nong Khai is straight flat Rd.

When I've done it have taken minivan from Central Plaza.

Some even get taxi/van from airport.

KL gives a visa free entry, with no hassles. My UK passport gives me 90 days. Some very cheap accom in the Bukit Bintang tourist area. It can be a very inexpensive stay if you are low on funds or just a cheap Charlie like me!

If you're worried you can pay for the VIP entry thing from any decent visa agent. Costs around 3,000 THB if I remember right. You get ushered through a special line and stamped in no questions asked, so long as you have a visa or if haven't entered too many times already on a visa exempt stamp.

I did it last time I had to enter without a visa, the guy looked at my passport and my records on the computer showing back-to-back-to-back-to-back stays for 19 years and he just asked me, "no visa this time?". I just smiled and said "not yet, but soon!" and he laughed and stamped me in.

Last quote I saw for the "Safe Entry" agent-service was 4500 - but, yes, if doing a bounce by air, this is what Immigration want you to do.
