Thailand’s Economic Crime Suppression Division (ECD) has raided a warehouse in Bangkok, seizing over 50,000 counterfeit products sold online under fake promotions. The operation, carried out on October 16, 2025, targeted a Vietnamese national allegedly impersonating major retailers Studio 7 and BaNaNA on Facebook to sell “shock deal” items to unsuspecting consumers.

Pol Maj Gen Thatphoom Charuprat, ECD Commander, directed the raid led by Pol Col Phuwadej Julkasewee, along with officers from Division 1 of ECD and representatives of affected companies. The suspect, 45-year-old Ms. Phan Thi Suong, was found at a modified residential property in Soi Nawamin 89, Bueng Kum, Bangkok, used to store the counterfeit goods.

Authorities confiscated 51,355 items including fake watches (Apple Watch, Casio, Hublot, Omega, Tissot, Garmin), speakers and headphones (Marshall, JBL, Samsung), perfumes (Chanel, Gucci, Dior), hairdryers (Dyson), and skincare products (SK-II). The property had been adapted to conceal its contents from public view, but daily deliveries and returns of suspected counterfeit items to the house helped police identify the operation.

The counterfeit pages misused the trademarks of Studio 7 and BaNaNA on multiple Facebook accounts, deceiving consumers into purchasing low-quality goods. This scheme caused financial losses to individuals and economic harm to legitimate businesses.

Police obtained a search warrant from the Central Intellectual Property and International Trade Court before conducting the raid. Ms. Phan Thi Suong faces charges of possessing and intending to sell goods bearing counterfeit registered trademarks. Authorities are continuing the investigation to identify and apprehend additional members of the criminal network.
